User Review - 10/10 by Jutta Hthis one is even better than the original "the eye"!
User Review - 10/10 by Salman SThis is real intersting.I was the only person in my family who understood this move foreal.
User Review - 6/10 by Wes SAn Indian remake of The Eye was necessary for what reason, exactly? Naina isn't bad as remakes go, but it's almost a scene-for-scene remake of the original film with just enough change to tailor it for an Indian audience... largely by setting it in London and a small Indian village. Otherwise, it is far more similar to the original Chinese version than even the (awful) American remake. Still, since this remake adds nothing other than Indian faces, why bother making it? We don't even get a big Bollywood song-and-dance segment. The actors are adequate. Annie, the girl in the hospital waiting to have an extra brain removed, wears a cheap skin-head wig that's readily apparent to any non-blind viewer. The actor playing the psychiatrist isn't very good, and he is probably one of the worst, most unethical psychiatrists in the history of medicine. But, really, if you've seen the original version of The Eye by the Pang brothers, you've already seen a better version of Naina, so why bother with it? Aside from a couple of attractive young Indian women, you're not missing anything by not seeing Naina.
User Review - 6/10 by John Tj-horror, this seamed too much like "the eye" the j-ver.
User Review - 6/10 by agent 2It was a great idea (the whole idea that her new eyes came with a sixth sense), but I wasn't very fond of the little love story with the doctor. The rising action was way too long. However, the Indian girls were really cute, so I give it two extra stars for the cute Indian girls.
User Review - 6/10 by Kevin DThe scenes of horror were pretty well done. The actress who played Naina annoyed me though and her character was annoying too. The story, however, wasn't too bad, but the ending sucks
User Review - 6/10 by Sunshine sIn the middle of a solar eclipse, a young girl loses both her parents and her eyesight. When she grows up, she is given a corneal implant to restore her vision, but with her new sight comes strange and terrifying visions. This film is an Indian remak...
User Review - 4/10 by Laurean LThis movie is a complete disaster for a remake. Previous parts (such as the grandmother) are played up as comedic. The romance between the girl and the doctor is also played up (common in Bollywood films, which doesn't HURT the story here, so it's not a bad point). I also did like how the 'calligraphy scene' from the original movie was changed to a painting class, that was cool. The main problem with this movie is the actress. Her acting is incredibly poor and she freaks out and acts like a maniac over everything. There is no clear concept of 'gradual' madness. The movie even slipped in a slight nod to Dark Water. The only saving factor of this movie is the backstory scene. I thought that was pretty dramatic, moving, and a great interpretation (from an Indian point of view). The major ending scene was also fantastic and a unique twist. Sadly, these are the only two points of the movie worth watching...the rest at the beginning seems antagonizingly long and boring. :( Sad for a remake of a pretty neat movie.
