Kim Nam-woo struggles through life as people around him constantly leave him; his best friend, Jun-ho, is going to study in Seoul and in some ways his widowed mother is "leaving" him too by paying more attention to her new boyfriend. Also, the animation in this movie is fantastic! It was so accurate, the animators really paid attention to fine detail in this movie, I felt at times like I was really looking at Korea, it reminded me so much of when I used to live there. |

Overall, the movie is tremendously evocative for patient viewers. Although grouped under the genre "anime," this is a gorgeous art film with landscapes slightly reminiscent of Miazaki and character development like that of any non-animated film; it's perfect for older, more mature viewers. |

In traditionnal fiction they are ridiculed or despised. here there grace, their sincerity and their imagination were magnified. that alone makes the movie worth seeing. how this is done gets it 5 full stars. |
