Mr. Viral is a dark comedy satire meets revenge thriller about viral marketing and the Internet. It's a story of revenge, gone viral. In the trenches of a struggling prominent advertising agency, three un-happy ad execs become preoccupied with their secret online social lives. A brilliant but jaded former creative director attempts to outdo his smarmy replacement and show the world its true face, through his twisted viral marketing campaigns. Secretly, he re-brands his agency's top family products, selling children's toys as sex toys and adult diapers as kinky wear, building an epic cult following online and inspiring a massive rivalry between agency and anarchy. Meanwhile, a suspicious gay account girl is desperate to uncover her wife's infidelity, but discovers the cruelty of e-stalking in the process. All the while, a lonely, middle-aged accountant searches for love on the Internet, but learns a harsh lesson about love in cyber space. | User ReviewTheresa YThis dark thriller hits all the marks for capturing your viewing pleasure. A white hot cast, coupled(or threesomed :) ) with strikingly dramatic images leave the audience pondering our susceptibility as consumers and after viewing , I can't shake Cobain's lyrics " Here we are now; entertain us I feel stupid and contagious." Manipulated into introspection, we are a passive, wanton lot. Mr. Viral...I was entertained. dammit. |
