Movie Reviews

Austin American-Statesman - 9/10 by Nicole VillalpandoEach of Marshall's holiday movies feels the need to be more and more over-the-top and less and less real.
EricDSnider.com - 9/10 by Eric D. SniderDirected by Garry Marshall, who died 15 years ago but whose body has continued to make movies as an autonomic response.
honeycuttshollywood.com - 9/10 by Kirk HoneycuttIt's a hopeless task to point out incessant clichés, formulaic story structure and sappy nonsense that cheerfully take up residence in the Garry Marshall Experience
Cleveland Plain Dealer - 9/10 by Michael HeatonThere's so much happening with so many characters in this movie that the law of averages dictates there will be at least four funny lines or bits. There were perhaps three.
Fresno Bee - 8/10 by Rick BentleyMarshall uses the same formula of blending together multiple story lines for his light comedy Mother's Day, but this time has better defined the plot and embraced the emotion. It's not perfect, but it's a sweet Mother's Day gift.
Boston Herald - 8/10 by Stephen SchaeferAniston does the heavy lifting, carrying Mother's Day on her sturdy shoulders whether with slapstick, superbly paced comic repartee or anxiously dealing with the very real threat of another woman horning in on her relationship with her sons.
Beliefnet - 8/10 by Nell MinowThe characters do not even rise to the level of stereotypes and the storylines couldn't fill a fortune cookie.
Reeling Reviews - 8/10 by Laura CliffordOnly Aniston's comic timing lifts these dire proceedings up, but the load is too heavy for anyone to bear.
One Guy's Opinion - 8/10 by Frank SwietekMore like 'Trash Day'... One shudders at the thought of how terrible further installments might be.
Consequence of Sound - 8/10 by Nico LangThe film’s script is designed to constantly flatter the sensibilities of its target audience, which is a nice enough goal, but it never seems to reflect the way that people actually speak, think, or behave. At best it’s corny, and at its worst it’s actively offensive.
