New York TimesJanet MaslinIt defies easy definition and blithely triumphs over what initially appears to be structural schizophrenia. It is the creation of a superior moviemaker who works eccentrically in the classical tradition.
New YorkerRichard BrodyThe redemptive power of love is joined with a stifled guffaw of irony.
Creative LoafingMatt BrunsonTruffaut playfully employs various filmmaking techniques throughout the picture.
DVDLaserDouglas PrattApproached as a caper film or a revenge-and-murder thriller, the movie is unsatisfying, but seen as a love story in which criminal activities are used to provide tension and an atmosphere of isolation, it is brilliantly unnerving
Time OutDavid FearTry to view this tale of a siren's song as something chewier than a cover version of Hitch's greatest hits, and what's left is a facile take on l'amour fou.

User ReviewJoel SExcelente. Otra genial película de Truffaut.
User ReviewPasha AA cult movie: Deneuve and Belmondo are cast opposite what they used to be cast at the time. She is a bad girl, he is a naive nice man. Deneuve was never more beautiful than in this movie, you can see that Truffaut was in love with her. The story is much more complicated than it would seem at first sight. A master piece.
User ReviewDavid HA hillarious French Romantic Film Noir with the lovely Catherine Deneuve great acted, directed and shoten with beautiful Pictures of the Surround and a wonderful 60's Style
