Cinema CrazedFelix Vasquez Jr.A tolerable and entertaining sequel to an abysmal franchise that rips from "Sisters," shamelessly...
MovieholeClint Morrisan inoculation of uniqueness and a victorious mix of character-detail and plot...you'll cheer writer-director J.T Petty for the change
Creative LoafingMatt BrunsonIllogical and sloppily constructed, and not even a villainous role for Lance Henriksen can elevate it.
User ReviewTony POnce again, a shit film elevated to greatness by the inclusion of Lance Henrikson, regardless what Wendy might say.
User ReviewJames HAwesome movie. And the guy was so cute and sweet. Aw so cute. Loved the whole giant cockroaches. So cool. Glad that they all survived. That mom was a slut, but she died so who cares. I just wish that it was a longer movie.
User ReviewAlex CIn a nutshell this is Rear Window with giant bugs. This is a decent sequel to " Mimic" that works despite its low budget ( most of the film, even the exteriors are shot on a set). It has its own sense of style and actually has some very creepy and scary scenes that are played in shadow. I'm sure its one of those cases of financial necessity leads to creative invention since you can tell they didn't have the budget for huge effects shots. Also you have a solid cast here with Alexis Dziena and Lance Henriksen being the standouts To sum up, This one is worth a look if your in the mood for a good horror rental and if your a fan of Mimic.
User ReviewAnthony VI've been searching for this DVD on my racks for years now and then, jadan! FOUND IT! This is my second viewing and still, I am blown away! Satisfyingly first-rate sequel! I've been a fan of Mimic since the first time I saw it. Maintained a pretty interesting and entertaining follow-ups. This one has a hitchcock feel to it. It interlaces multitudinal topics about voyeurism at full length throughout the film. It has impressive acting, pretty slick location, good story. And it's direct to video. A great finale will keep you on the edge. Recommended! And definitely, A keeper. 4.3 out of 5 stars! :)
User ReviewJason DJT Petty is an amazing filmmaker that I only hope becomes more successful with time. His feature debut, Soft For Digging, was a creepy and tension riddled film that was enough to get him the task of directing Mimic 3. Where Mimic 2 lacked in tension, mood, and build-up; Mimic 3 utilizes it ten fold by added elements of Rear Window to the ever resilient bug problem that NY keeps suffering. The film is a great watch and all of that build-up makes up with an insanely wild and bloody climax that comes out of nowhere. Great film.
User Reviewmatt dMuch better than I expected, which, admittedly, ain't saying much.
User ReviewFirst LWell, this was released back in 2003. I had never heard of it, but flipped through a few channels and started watching. It was very 'Rear View' Hitchcockesque. Which was nice. A family living in an apartment, no Dad, and a son who is hypersensitive to many things. Has a number of health issues, so he watches his neighbors through his window and fantastic telephoto lens. He notes many strange occurences across the street. The Mimics are back. Lance has a relatively small part, but kicks ass as usual. This was a nice surprise and I recommend it, despite not being a huge Mimic fan. Beware, it is like Hitchcock in that it seems slow, until the suspense really builds up. Not great, but well worth a watch.
