Leave your thoughts about Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Once & Always.
USA TodayKelly LawlerPower Rangers belongs to our inner kids, and "Once and Always" remembers that.
SlashfilmRafael MotamayorThis may not be the epic "Power Rangers" reunion some fans may have hoped for, but Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Once & Always is very much the love letter to the last 30 years of this franchise, where it all began, and where it is going.
Paste MagazineGlenn RowleyWithout giving any spoilers away, the rest of the Once & Always is both chock full of Easter eggs and callbacks for longtime fans and pays haphazard regard to basic storytelling elements like continuity and history.
IGNJoshua YehlWhile Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Once and Always has a deeply emotional story at its center and plenty of fun nostalgic moments to enjoy during its one-hour runtime, it’s hard to shake the feeling that this special needed better effects and dialogue to make it truly Morphenomenal.
ColliderErick MassotoPower Rangers: Once & Always doesn’t make the same mistake as the 2017 feature film Power Rangers, which took itself way too seriously when it didn’t need to. At the same time, the special is too aware that it should be a little serious, which prevents viewers from having fun with the truly campy moments that, although rare, fire up the screen when they pop.
Screen RantFerdosa AbdiIt is heartfelt in its embrace of silliness, and for that reason alone, it is worth a watch.
User Reviewbig_smileTHE MIGHTY MORPHIN' POWER RANGERS ARE BACK! Unlike other revivals, this special stays true to the spirit of the source material. All the energetic posing, explosions, over-the-top villains, and spectacular fight scenes that made the original such compelling viewing are lovingly recreated in all their delightfully cheesy glory. You can genuinely feel all the love that has gone into this special to make it faithful to the original. But there's a fresh modern twist, as the characters are fleshed out more with juicy internal conflicts and a high-stakes story. It's a heady mix of old and new. There's never a dull moment when watching. The pacing keeps up the thrills, while the action scenes always amaze in that unique Power Rangers way. There are some minor problems. The special should have been longer to give more time for the secondary rangers (especially for Adam and Aisha, and maybe shown more of Kat/Rocky in their civilian lives). The Megazord CGI could have done with a larger budget (It's stunningly beautiful in some places, but in some areas, I wish they had the budget for a physical suit). But there's so much breathtaking action, compelling storytelling, and delightful nostalgia, that it's hard to complain: You'll be thoroughly entertained throughout! A definite must-see! I sincerely hope Hasbro/Netflix turn this into a season. It's just too good to be a one-shot standalone.
User ReviewAjarmento29Great movie I loved every minute of it was it perfect no but no movie is but with the budget they had and all the hoops they had to go through to create this it's just impressive that they were able to create this and get some of the ogs back. Now I know people are going to be boo it sucks because jdf wasn't in or oh its not worth it because Amy jo and asj aren't in but if you actually pay attention you'd know that all of the og team that were around were asked and at the time jdf was still alive but they turned it down and asj has Legal issues that bindded him to the u.s so he could be apart of this so when you take all of that into account then you'd see what they had to deal with. Now if we continue to watch it then Netflix will see and they'd be like hay lets do a Sequel or hay here's a 10 episode series watch that but all in all this was a really good movie given the hand they were delt and I can't wait to see it again.
User Reviewdvaldivia08It was a great heartfelt film that left you wondering what adventures will they get into next. Hopefully a sequel.
User ReviewbradevansNostalgia done right! Unlike other revivals that change everything, this remains faithful to the original show, keeping all the cheesy fun and even bringing back the original actors. It was like back being in 1993! AND. I. LOVED. IT. Story was superb, bursting with emotion and tension. The action was amazing, much better than the CGI heavy stuff you see in Marvel movies these days. The 90s cheesy Power Rangers vibe was refreshing and it made a welcome change from other super hero flicks. Granted, the Megazord CGI was dodgy, and some of the second gen characters need more screen time. But everything else was SO SO good, that I can let that pass. This put a massive grin on my inner 90s kid.
