User ReviewBenjamin SGreat Melodrama about a very unorthodox Love which is reached by Accidents
User ReviewMark SMelodrama a plenty in this tale about a wealthy playboy and what he does with his money...and his love.
User ReviewDan KGood Lord, melodrama at its finest. Sirk is a fucking god and Rock Hudson oozes kingliness. I cannot recommend this enough. It's a heartbreaking story of death and true love that grabs you within the first minute and stays entirely engrossing till the very end.
User ReviewIrvin CA rather magnificent film to kick off the new year. I loved "All That Heaven Allows" and it turns out the magical combo of Rock Hudson, Jane Wyman and director Sirk wasn't a one-time thing. An arrogant playboy (Hudson) tries to make amends to a widow (Wyman) after he indirectly caused her husband's death and later blinds her. They end up falling in love. Beautifully acted and quite moving without an ounce of phoniness about it.
