Movie Reviews

Movie Nation - 4/10 by Roger MooreA couple of random laughs die of loneliness here. None of the romances are developed and have time to register, much less click. And here’s Dugan, squinting at the cue cards, energetically serving up the awful double-entendres as host of a show no one would watch unless creepy grandpa the host was a LOT creepier and funnier.
Chicago Sun-Times - 3/10 by Richard RoeperThe title gives fair warning. If you watch this movie, you’re in for an absolute, unmitigated, cringe-inducing, “WHAT IN GOD’S NAME WERE THEY THINKING?” disaster.
Boston Globe - 3/10 by Ty BurrThe scenes with Keaton and Irons, too, rise above the mediocrity-unto-badness of Love, Weddings & Other Disasters on the strength of the actors’ charisma alone. Irons thaws satisfyingly as a snob finding unexpected love, and Keaton remains adorably, engagingly herself, turning her character’s blindness into a la-di-da form of grace. They are diamonds at a garage sale, and they deserve better.
Variety - 2/10 by Joe LeydonIf Love, Actually had actually been as bad as its most vociferous detractors have long insisted, it would have looked and sounded a lot like this misfire.
The Telegraph - 2/10 by Robbie CollinDisasters: well, they said it. The new film from Dennis Dugan is a frighteningly inept stab at a romantic comedy in the Nancy Meyers style.
The Hollywood Reporter - 1/10 by Caryn JamesIt may seem very on the nose that the word "disaster" is right there in the title, but then nothing seems too leaden for this fiasco.
TheWrap - 0/10 by Alonso DuraldeThe title promises disaster, and the movie delivers: Love, Weddings & Other Disasters is a witless, charmless, barely-written, indifferently acted, hideously shot, and generally odious waste of 90 minutes.
User Review - 6/10 by Mauro_Lanari(Mauro Lanari) I don't know at all if love is crazy, however Dugan thinks so and directs a madly eccentric film. He does not convince in every part of it but is consistent with his assumption and is free from vulgarity, coarseness, scurrility: an exceptional event in works of this type.
User Review - 2/10 by BeeceeKeaton and Irons are very good actors, but even they can't save this mess of a film. Two points for them. The plot ridiculously starts with a young woman forcing a man to go skydiving, then they plop down into the middle of a wedding on a lake. Somehow this is enough to qualify her as a wedding planner. Nothing is particularly funny, and everything is pretty nonsensical.
