User ReviewThe All-Seeing ITim McSpadden pens and directs Love A La Carte, a bodily fluids-caked gem of a comedy in which marital boredom is best battled by observing a strict diet of extramarital sex. Aaron Ginn-Forsberg is Phil. He's got a cool house and his wife is easy on the eyes. But as a couple, they're sexually spent to the point where he's faking his own orgasms. So he's off getting off somewhere else, and constantly. Now and then, a English-accented narrator observes Phil in voiceover mode, and no differently than any other alpha beast observed on safari. But don't let the shrewdly-conceived surrealistic cutaways and awesome bro-dialect fool you: This isn't just a guy flick. In fact there's little doubt that Love A La Carte is, ironically, a film best served to the couple in acknowledged mid-life crisis who both know all too well how real this story gets for many. So bring your disenchanted spouse to the couch for this one, and after 90 minutes of simultaneously elevated and low-brow humor layered over the top of some masterful observational comedy, you might just reconnect and get laid.
User ReviewTyson LThe style of this film is captivating and the acting was on-point. A take on the mid-life crisis in a surreal pop-art sense. The cast is gorgeous to look at and the humor ranges from dark at times to laugh out loud funny. Well balanced and excellent auteur-piece
User ReviewBrian GLoved this movie!!! Indie films are often hamstrung by poor production value that makes the film look cheap but here the low budget aspect is part of it's appeal creating a very fun style that doesn't take itself too seriously and seem more like a creative choice by the director than a production that just didn't have enough dough to make a real film. Comedies are even harder to pull off in the indie world and here again the film does not disappoint. My girlfriend and I had several good belly laughs throughout the film and just as many uncomfortable moments as the film also delivers some serious knowledge bombs about dating in our modern world. Though crass and sometimes very silly (in a very good way) the film deals with some very heavy material that makes one reflect upon their own relationships. The script is very well written, the narrative strong, and the performances were solid. Kudos to the team that made this film with it's completely irreverent and smart dialogue that is not concerned with dealing with uncomfortable truths about the sexes and not concerned about offending. This film is a throwback to the bygone days where comedies were allowed to be funny. Love a La Carte was made at the tail end of that bygone era way back in 2014. Kudos to the director for going where you're not supposed to go anymore!

User ReviewJimi RA very funny, and slightly bizarre take on infidelity. I really liked Aaron Ginn-Forsberg, he was a great find and has some throwback comedic chops. Recommend this, it's definitely worth your time!
User ReviewStephen KI laughed a lot at this very quirky sex comedy! And I so appreciated the originality of it all, especially the unique way it was shot and the fact that it wasn't just a one-note raunch-fest. It definitely had great raunch at times, but mixed it up by dealing with a lot of realistic and relatable relationship issues... I was also impressed by the actors who handled well the uniqueness of the switching from very funny raunch to a more serious tone at times... There's a lot of reasons to see this film: Attractive cast, funny, quirky, and stands out as a film in a category of its own, which is very refreshing.
