Movie Reviews

Film Journal International - 4/10 by Frank LoveceA vapid mess that outwardly looks like a theatrical movie but just careens around from sequence to disconnected sequence like a badly tarted-up pinball.
L.A. Weekly - 3/10 by James C. TaylorAn embarrassment of a vanity project, Living the Dream is a film written, directed and starring a real corporate headhunter.
Los Angeles Times - 3/10 by Michael OrdonaThis is a bitter, occasionally farcical drama with the most hostile cinematic view of Los Angeles since "Crash."
TV Guide Magazine - 3/10 by Maitland McDonaghWhile the film isn't entirely amateurish -- shots are cut together and the cinematography is professional if not precisely stylish -- the story feels as though large pieces are missing and the characters behave so inconsistently that there's zero incentive to care about their tribulations.
User Review - 10/10 by ThomasLoved it! It was dark, twisted and funny.
User Review - 9/10 by JimL.I loved it!!!Great story and great acting. It was an honest movie about "real life" in LA, with a message. Refreshing, gutsy and original.
User Review - 8/10 by JasonG.I had no expectations knowing this film was shot in 18 days with a $350,000 budget, but surprisingly Living The Dream was beutifully shot and brought the worst of LA to our faces. Yes, Los Angeles can be cruel... and Yes... The corruption of our most important values in life, can be changed by the town we live. Despite the dark humor, I enjoyed the message. The diversity of the cast was a pleasant surprise. Marilia Pera's performance is pure "eye candy.
User Review - 6/10 by Greg WThere is undeniable heart in Living the Dream, with its implicit criticism of mercenary values, but its world is populated solely by hustlers, recruiters and salesmen with nothing to sell.
User Review - 1/10 by JohnG.Ugh. It's amateur hour folks. It's obvious that the 2 reviews I just read are friends of the producer and/or director. What directing? What producing? I suggest that these folks get back to their real jobs and don't waste money on projects that they think the rest of us, with any amount of IQ, will even slightly appreciate. Please don't bore me to death again...and in a movie theatre at that! I am one of many that walked out of this film and found a reason to keep walking right out the main doors of the theater. Breathing fresh air outside was a treat since I didn't have suffer with this slow-moving poorly acted and directed anomaly.
