User ReviewKjetil SA hardcore piece of slasher porn that follows the direction of HOSTEL, TURISTAS, and numerous other films. 'Feed' has entertaining characters and some amazing gore that'll make your mouth drop open.
User ReviewCurtis JWell, well. This was labeled as a Hostel rip off when it came out. Yeah, sure it mixes porn with torture (more porn than Hostel), tourists on holiday in a foreign country (this time in asia), good looking women (um, not as sweet as Hostel tho) and a unique location (porn theatre.lol), but despite those comparisons this couldn't have felt more different. Maybe it was the low-budget production values that made it feel the way it did as it most definitely looked a lot cheaper than Hostel. okay, enough comparisons. Live Feed sees 2 best mates accompanied by their girlfriends in Asia exploring some Food Market which is actually the Richmond Food Market in Canada somewhere, but it had me convinced they where in asia. After expressing their disapproval to a butcher who is chopping up a small dog alive and a brief scuffle with him that followed they leave to a pub where they get into another scuffle, but this time with some important mafia dudes. They leave the bar right away and come to a porn theatre, so decide to waste some time inside. Little do they know those mafia dudes own the place and use it as a, I guess you can call, a human Abattoir with porn playing on the tv sets and hidden cameras filming their every move. There is a lot of gore, but unfortunately not much tension is built up. Although when the gigantic killer appears I found my hands slowly rising to cover my eyes. He is gigantic. The lack of suspense could be due to the independent feel of the film, but mainly due to the Director/Writers philosophy on film making where he disapproves of the 'less is more' motto in film making. He actually thinks it is bull shit. He is all for more and it shows with the amount of gore and nudity on display. His philosophy is only proven in his next film GUTTERBALLS which is a step up in almost everything Live Feed has to offer. Oh and it is a complete slasher flick unlike this one. Despite the annoying fact that this has been labeled as a HOSTEL rip off, it deserves to be seen.
User ReviewBubs MPretty well for a hostel rip-off, sub-indie, DV flick with bad dialog. With all that considered it had some good stuff. Lots of gore.
User ReviewPrincess SA lot of chinese lanuage in it, and really gruesome. Felt sick, and couldn't watch a lot of scenes. Very, very GORY, and I'm a big fan of horror movies!
User ReviewLee ?The term "Torture Porn" is used too loosely these days when describing a lot of new gory horror films and unjustly so, but in this case it sums up the film accurately enough. Lots of bloody gore, sex and nudity and bound and gagged females ensues as five friends travelling through asia bump into sadistic Triads who take pleasure in watching westerners die painfully and then indudge in a bit of cannibalism afterwards. Once (or if) you get over the low-budget look of it all the film does get better as it goes along, but the poor actiing is ever-present and is as unconvincing as the supposedly asian backdrop the film is meant to be set in. It does have some pretty sick kills during the last half so gore fans rejoice.
User ReviewStephen CWhen a group of friends visit Asia, they discover that under the bright lights runs a horrific underbelly of violence. We all remember those fun days of 80's low-budget direct to video horror and this movie harkens back to those times. This ultra low budget gore fest tries so hard to be cutting edge and out do 'Hostel', but in the end it is a bit of a mess. The plot is makes less sense the further you get in to the movie, and along with the bad acting and low-rate special effects makes for a movie that isn't easy to watch. But, this reviewer must admit that he really quite enjoyed it, and gives respect to the makers and actors who made this movie with enthusiasm and obvious enjoyment that you feel that many big budget projects lack.
User ReviewVicky BOne of the all time goriest films but suffers from ultra low production values. The actors are not up to much either and it's all patched together with some fairly mundane directing. Some scenes are exciting though and a vibrant mixture of sex livens it up a little, as does a nice little martial arts scene. Only for a certain section of the community.
User ReviewAl MA brutal and sleazy film, Live Feed plays like a found-footage rip-off of Hostel. The film's horrible acting and low production qualities detract somewhat from its effectiveness, but it still manages to exude its own noxious and twisted vibe that make it somewhat memorable.
User ReviewChase FI was disappointed with this film. As I loved Hostel and the case for this film said if you like hostel then see this. I did and well I didn't like it. It was all gore and no substance. There was nothing to drive this movie other than gore. Don't get me wrong I love a good gory movie but sadly this one wasn't that good. In fact the gore was so excessive that I found myself yawning and falling to sleep. I never cared about the characters or if they lived or died at all. They were too stupid to know what was happening. The picture was not good why are they making Horror movies in Digital? It just doesn't work. It takes away the style and the grittiness from the movie. Horror movies from the 80's had the right look. In fact I'd rather watch them than most of the new age digital horrors. The gore effects in this were not bad but came up too much as claret sprayed everywhere, it was ridiculous. The acting was that good either. Several of the characters annoyed me so much I was begging for them to be killed. The gore was decent but the story was boring drab and slow. Take my advice stick with Hostel.
User Reviewken kThis was actually a really funny B-movie! There's no denying how shitty it is, but it is fun and extremely entertaining.
