Movie Reviews

Variety - 9/10 by Ronnie ScheibEvident throughout is Chaiken's ability to patiently build a scene without fanfare or artifice.
PopMatters - 8/10 by Cynthia FuchsThe effects of Derrick's wars -- multiple, low-key, endless -- were in motion long before he went to Afghanistan.
Salon.com - 8/10 by Andrew O'HehirAnother good, no-budget work from New York indie kingpin Larry Fessenden and his production company, Glass Eye Pix.
New York Times - 8/10 by Jeannette CatsoulisThere's not a single wrong note in Liberty Kid...
Filmcritic.com - 7/10 by Don Willmottalmost anthropological in its careful attention to colorful Brooklyn detail
Slant Magazine - 5/10 by Paul SchrodtUnanswered questions about Derrick's kids and Spanish-speaking mother abound, and their all-too-infrequent interactions point to a hard-knuckled realism about post-9/11 New York that begs to be seen.
User Review - 10/10 by Ryan PA wonderful indie film incorporating several different and important socio-political themes . Highly recommended, especially watching the extras: especially the extended footage of the actual war veterans and the behind the scenes footage.
User Review - 10/10 by Jenn TMight be hard to find, but awesome, sweet movie.
User Review - 6/10 by Michael Ta very well acted and portrayed movie, but hard finding a true purpose.
