In 1964 a reluctant John Lennon is persuaded by manager Brian Epstein to meet Freddie, the father who abandoned him 17 years earlier, with the press in attendance. The meeting is short and bitter. Three years later Epstein is dead and John invites Freddie to his mansion but again things turn sour, due to Freddie's drinking and insulting Mimi, the aunt who raised John. The Beatles set up Apple records but the press are hostile and Lennon's comment that 'we're more popular than Jesus' doesn't help. Rows with long-suffering wife Cynthia lead to marital breakdown and John's meeting Japanese performance artist Yoko Ono. Family history is repeated as Lennon leaves Cynthia and their son Julian for Ono, by whom he has a second son, Sean. In 1969 John returns his M.B.E. in protest at England's support for the Vietnam War while his stunts with Yoko Ono to promote peace alienate the press. Some months later he disbands the Beatles to the other members' annoyance and, after arguments with Paul McCartney, sees a therapist, who regresses him to the day Freddie left him. He learns that Freddie needs his help to write a biography, leading to one last showdown between father and son.

7M Pictures - 4/10 by Kevin CarrDo we really need to see that much of Lennon naked?
Cinema Signals - 4/10 by Jules BrennerThere is something disembodied about this attempt to exploit the name, fame and commercial fruit of the iconic bad-boy songwriter.
User Review - 8/10 by Alfia TBuena peli... Fuerte pero más verídica del laberinto de persona que era John...
User Review - 8/10 by Adam BLennon Naked is a 2010 television biographical film focusing on the life of John Lennon between 1967 and 1971. It stars Christopher Eccleston as Lennon & directed by Edmund Coulthard. Going to make this short & sweet, to the point Christopher Eccleston's performance was fare enough, as was Andrew Scott as Paul McCartney, & Naoko Mori as Yoko Ono, the performances help the drama unfold quickly. There is so much that goes into the life of John Lennon, and it's impossible not to leave material out in only 90 minutes, So I think they made a few errors on what they focused on, but it was a good attempt at showing off Lennon's early life, relationship with Paul, love for Yoko, & turn to politics. All-In-All 'Lennon Naked' has enough heart & great music to keep itself entertained, despite a few aspects not being completely fleshed out.
User Review - 8/10 by JJ DIt was good the learn more about John Lennon's life. Just wish they would have picked a bit better person to play his part.
User Review - 6/10 by Scott FNot a bad movie. Everybody does a great job and Eccleston especially shines as John but . . . well, at this point what more can be said about the Beatles? The filmmakers behind this film apparently decided that John Lennon had daddy issues and Yoko needed to be humanized and that a whole movie could be based on that.

User Review - 6/10 by Laura MIt was good but there was some distracting elements to the production. It wasn't a waste of my time.
User Review - 6/10 by Sean MAlways a tough call but Chris Eccleston is one of my favourites so made it enjoyable enough. No extras on the DVD though which was disappointing. Peace and love.
User Review - 6/10 by Nerine DI'm ambivalent about this one. I don't know enough about Lennon's life to pass a judgment call as to how accurate this film is, but I found it fascinating nonetheless. I liked the way they mixed old footage with the actual film, and the styling was great.
