Hopeless driver Bev Baldwin has failed her test eight times, on the last attempt colliding with a parked milk float, to the dismay of loser husband Ian. At the suggestion of work colleague Gerry she enrols at his mistress Fiona's driving school and is taught by the shy, lonely Chris who gives her confidence so that her driving improves. But when Ian is made redundant and cannot afford more lessons he resumes teaching her and the old faults come back so she steals from her daughter's school trip fund to pay for more lessons. Her next test goes brilliantly - until she sees Ian and goes to pieces when he tries to stop the car. Ultimately she passes at her tenth attempt after her driving has averted a domestic crisis and paved the way for an upturn in the family finances whilst Fiona, realising that she is being used by Gerry, gets it together with Chris.

User Reviewpauline bDavid do a fun man here and lonely and try to be so kind he can. David play great here. and its not bad for the anther actors aether, a good great funny movie.
User ReviewMichael MI love it! hilarious, great acting, good plot and David Tennant!
User ReviewElise CThis film was a little on the boring side. The subject matter is not exactly something that lends itself to making for an interesting movie. However, David Tennant kind of makes it work, so it's still pretty entertaining.
User ReviewJosh SDT again great in a role and brillient writing from jessica - very good film
User ReviewVicky VGreat little film that is probably easier to appreciate if you've taken driving lessons, lol. The cast is great, even if the relationship between Chris and Fiona feels a bit forced. Overall though, I'd recommend it to anyone.
User ReviewLydia Jquite entertaining, lots of good actors but the affair storylines didn't seem to 'fit' with the rest of the film. still, I enjoyed it!
User ReviewKaren BThis is an amusing but not thrilling comedy about a woman trying to pass her driving test, against a backdrop of various characters forming unwise romantic relationships. Male lead David Tennant, writer/star Jessica Hynes and supporting actor Shaun Dingwall all starred or guest starred in Doctor Who prior to making this British tv special. As an American, I have to say the show doesn't travel well, but if you like low-key romantic dramedy, or just want to see David Tennant play something very different from the Doctor or Casanova, you may want to give this a try.
User ReviewBee ENot really my type of movie but since it had David Tennant I watched it and it wasn't too bad.
User ReviewPaul LNot brilliant, but a pleasant enough little movie.
