Jim Bickerman, the intrepid poacher and now the lucky one-eyed survivor of the reptilian attack in Lake Placid: The Final Chapter (2012), has joined forces with a pharmaceutical company, to catch a crocodile for their bizarre cross-breeding experiments. Of course, nothing goes as planned, and now, the once-fenced-off area near Maine's Black Lake is rife with ravenous crocodiles and killer anacondas, threatening to devour not only the inhabitants but also an unsuspecting team of college sorority girls. Once more, it's up to no-nonsense Sheriff Reba, along with the Fish and Wildlife officer, Will Tull, to stop the scaly menace, as the members of both aggressive species won't stop fighting until the extinction of the opponent. Is there an escape from the mandibles of death?
Leave your thoughts about Lake Placid vs. Anaconda.
User ReviewGimly MGiant crocs and pregnant genetically-modified anaconda escape after a scientific mishap, mostly due to Freddy Krueger's greed. Very little actual fighting between the two abnormally large animals, but the reptiles hunt a group of sorority girls. Yancy Butler returns as the sheriff.
User ReviewWes SProving once again that the "Final Chapter" subtitle means nothing, the Lake Placid franchise rolls into a unneeded crossover with another forgotten monster franchise. While it's mostly picking up from the last Lake Placid movie, there are some concepts and nods to the previous Anaconda films as well. The effects are awful, and there are too many silly moments. The cast isn't great, even with its star power. Laughable, ridiculous to describe, and utterly uninteresting.
User ReviewSean D19 years later after the release or production of the original Anaconda, the series continues after a small hiatus of the four original films for a crossover with another animal monster series this year in 2015, Lake Placid. This film, which skips the actual plot line of Anacondas for the like the first half of the film, besides the beginning doesn't get good until the two meet each other. Three individual plots all become intertwined. One is trying to find the Queen Anaconda for the mating of the crocs and her. Another is trying to can the menace that is once again out of control in the town of Lake Placid, with the addition of anacondas. The last is a useless plot of girls trying to get into a sorority. It's absolutely pointless and idiotic. The action gets a little crazy but rushed towards the 2nd half and end of the film. Especially the end of the film, it had all the potential, but it ass mostly wasted. The film's general plot and especially the ending sets the film up for several continuous crossover sequels, in which has only happened with one other series, Alien vs. Predator. If this series ends up having more than one sequel, that'll be a record.
