Movie Reviews

Cinema Crazed - 3/10 by Felix Vasquez Jr.A very low rent and C grade variation of "The Deep"...
User Review - 10/10 by Shweta SA must see comedy. Watch it with someone who will find it hysterical, use slow motion whenever possible, and do NOT be afraid to point out every hilarious inaccuracy/stereotype/ sound effect.
User Review - 10/10 by Paul MSci-Fi Original pictures classic, right up there with Loch Ness Terror, Sabretooth, and Alien Apocalypse.
User Review - 8/10 by Jessie VWhen this came out I heard nothing but praise for it, and I think it lives up to it. The director stylizes it a bit, but allows for an actual plot and character development, and the titular Kraken looks fairly good, most of the time, the score is easily the best part about the movie, and the actors weren't god awful and suited their roles to a large degree and there was a good amount of fun to be had. If you don't like B-movies, this won't convert you, but if you do, you'll be suitably impressed. Also, this is actually decently made and fun, unlike the near perfect Shark Attack 3, which is soo bad it's brilliant. See the difference? I do!
User Review - 4/10 by Jimmy BAward winner for the movie with the worst effects ever. But its sci fi. What do you expect. But when i first saw it i thought it was from the 70s but it was made in 06. Kind of scary there
User Review - 4/10 by Gerard DA less than average creature feature starring a giant squid protecting an ancient Greek treasure. Makes sense. As do marine archaeologists in bikinis.
User Review - 4/10 by Dorothy Hso the acting was rather blah and the movie was funny though. so i was entertained to an extent at least.
User Review - 4/10 by Gimly MNot-bad SciFi channel production, which is a double-edged sword: not exciting nor high production enough to stand out, and too competent to enjoy as a bad movie like, say, Mega Shark Vs. Giant Octopus. That leaves a passable yet unremarkable creature feature. I watched this for Victoria Pratt, star of silly sci-fi TV shows Mutant X and Cleopatra 2525. She's a solid action performer with enough acting chops to make her characters believable. And speaking of solid, her body is the blueprint of ultimate fitness while still retaining femininity. A waste that she plays the role of doctor in distress since she could easily clobber the bad guy (a grayhaired guy with a cane for god's sake) single-handedly. Oh well, at least as an oceanographer she still gets the swimsuits. Her hero-for-hire Charlie "I'm Not Jerry, But Only Barely" O'Connell also performs decently, while an upgrade of the antagonists would have helped.
User Review - 4/10 by Jennifer HI was disappointed in how un-Krakenlike the creature was. It was a giant CGI squid that Charlie O'Connell was going after for eating his parents when he was little. It was cool to see him go all aggro on it in the end with a machine guy. Super tense! Added bonus: there was a pre-Glee Cory Monteith in this movie.
User Review - 4/10 by Ken LThis was a mildly diverting film. Staring Charlie O'Conner of Slider fame and Christina Campbell. One reason for such a high rating is her strong feminist example role model of strong take charge woman leading scientist character. She's here nearing her long sought artifact of a golden Greek battle mask when Ray Reiter shows up as a deep sea photographer and to deal with the Kraken as well which has been his lifelong interest scince his parents were snatched from him by it as a child in these same waters. The Kraken is there according to legend to guard a giant great and powerful magic saphire lying in the same trove. His added protection and assistance is doubly fruituitus from the potentially even greater threat of the Greek mob boss under pain of death orders to retrieve the mask that was once for many generations the most treasured of family heirlooms. The whole idea is to get it and the sapphire if there really is such a thing away from the Kraken and past the mob boss alive and in one piece. The mobster is one dimentionally unrelenting and predictible in his pursuit but how it all comes out between him and the Kraken is full of many surprising twists and turns. Much of the fx looks like it could have been done better on a home computer. The stuntwork looked abysmal from time to time. But the cinematography seemed OK. The acting was natural and fluid enough, even the villan's overwrought evilness. Laughed at rather than with it on several occasions, sometimes quite enjoyably. Remember nothing of the music which may or may not be either a good or a bad sign.
