| User ReviewJanne SBefore Tommy Wirkola made Hansel & Gretel, and even before Dead Snow. He made this low-budget film, "Kill Buljo" a Norwegian parody of Quentin Tarantino's Kill Bill. The story is set in North Norway (Lapland) and starts with an engagement party, when suddenly four mercenaries comes in and kill all the guests. Even the groom Jompa Tormann (a Norwegian version of Uma Thurman) is shot four times in the head, but still survives. Jompa wakes up in a hospital some mouths later, and decides to track down all the mercenaries and kill them, including their boss Tamba Buljo. I found Kill Buljo extremely hilarious. Specially because I'm Norwegian. The sad thing is that it most likely doesn't work out side Norway (maybe in Sweden and Finland). Its humor is to internal and plays a lot on dialects and Sami culture (indigenous people). But I'm glad it worked for me, because I laugh really hard of all the funny action one-liners Jompa came with. Somethings foreigners might laughed about is some pop culture references from other famous movies, like Deliverance and Star Wars. And there's some laughable slapstick humor, some so stupid that they are good. For me it's a great spoof film on the same level as Naked Gun and Airplane!. My conclusion is that Kill Buljo works on a local level, where it hits the jackpot. One of my favorite comedies of all time. A big Thumbs Up. |

| User ReviewErik HTake this film for what it is; a deliberatly stupid parodic film -and you'll love it. Memorable quotes and unbelievably stupid fight scenes. And don't get me started on the love scenes.. Jeez. |
