User Review - 10/10 by Sugu MThe first half of the film makes you roll on the floor and laugh and the second half ties you on the seat with romance and sentiment. Even a guy not into romantic movies will cry at this movie climax. Vijay perform his best in the romantic role and Asin gives an equal match in acting. Vidyasagar background music is excellent and Siddique's direction is,absolutely, gonna make the movie a great hit. This movie would be an example of how a movie can run successfully without TV,media support and add to it, problems from various sectors.
User Review - 10/10 by Shriram Smovie too good. vijay - a good come back and a laudable performance by asin.
User Review - 10/10 by Frank Rawesome movie :) must see by all :) i love it
User Review - 10/10 by Sriram Rdefinitely good come back by ilayathalapathy vijay.. Nice film
User Review - 10/10 by Vijay VVijay-Siddique proved their combination to be one of the best duo combos in K-town with their splendid comedy entertainer â~Friendsâ(TM). The film had more reasons to be acclaimed as the evergreen entertainer for its adequate elements of fun, romance, emotions and action. In fact, the film happened to be a turning point in Vijayâ(TM)s career and so is â~Kaavalanâ(TM). With Vijay striding with unlimited list of flop shows in the past three years, â~Kaavalanâ(TM) stands out to be a different flick, which indeed marks the strong comeback of Vijay in a soft romantic role. Well, ardent fans of Vijay can rejoice to the extremum as the film savors to the tastes of even non-Vijay fans as well. This one is a pure romantic comedy with some unexpected twists in climax that lets you walk out of theatres with an emotional feel. Siddiqueâ(TM)s needs special mention for his distinctive style of screenplay as he blends comedy and romance together with some action treat for Vijay fans. His ability to make so many changes from the original version requires appreciation. Bhoominathan (Vijay), a happy-go-lucky youngster is alarmed by his uncle (Delhi Ganesh) that their savior-like- Semmanur Muthuramalingam (Raj Kiran) and his family members are in danger. Soon he takes up the task of being his bodyguard and is rejected by Muthuramalingam at first. Later, he is accepted and is assigned to be the bodyguard of his daughter Meera (Asin) and friend Madhu (Mithra Kurien). Meera is literally graveled as Bhoominathan behaves typically like a bodyguard and hatches new plan to divert his attention. She starts making prank calls to Bhoominathan with an unknown identity of Ammu Kutty. Coincidentally, Bhoominathan assumes that his childhood love Ammu Kutty has comeback into his life and falls in love with the voice. Vijay has made a perfect decision to step into the shoes of his pre-existing image of romantic guy. Even he has paid close attention towards modulating his mannerisms, costumes and body language that turns to be the heart-and-soul of his characterization. Be it comedy portions, action sequences or the emotional scenes, Vijay has done justice to the script and his role. It looks like a surreal experience for the audiences as they might have not imagined the actor would get back with such a role. â~Kaavalanâ(TM) holds specific place in the bandwagon of Vijayâ(TM)s ever-cherishing romantic entertainers like â~Poove Unnakkagaâ(TM), â~Kadhalukku Mariyadhaiâ(TM), â~Shahjahanâ(TM), â~Thullatha Manamum Thullumâ(TM). Asin gets a good footage just as it was in â~Ghajiniâ(TM). The girl showcases a matured performance and it looks like she has changed her attitude after her Bollywood journey. She tries exhibiting her glamorous appeal at many places. Newcomer Mithra Kurien has good chances of bagging efficient roles in mere future. Vadiveluâ(TM)s comical appearance is so enjoyable. The comedy portions are very well directed and most of them just throw huge laughter amongst the audiences. The first half is brimmed with establishment of characters, hilarious encounters of Vijay, Asin and others, but the actual conflict takes off during intermission as the audience may wonder whatâ(TM)s gonna happen next. The second hour turns out to be stereotypical as the lead pairs go unconditionally emotional. Asinâ(TM)s characterization is as intense as after some point of time, audiences have chances of getting averted with her conflicting nature. The climax point is so shocking and on pars surprising and you can expect downpour of applauses. Vidhyasagarâ(TM)s songs â~Sada Sadaâ(TM) and â~Yaaradhuâ(TM) are engrossing and youâ(TM)ll keep humming to these tunes even after walking out of theatres. Cinematography by Ekambaram looks low-profiled while editing is neat and crisp. If â~Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaâ(TM) happened to be 2010â(TM)s best romantic film, â~Kaavalanâ(TM) will not be an exception as it can be acclaimed as the emotional romantic drama in 2011. All credit goes to Siddique and to Vijay for making a best decision at this crucial point of time in his career. Cast & Crew: Banner: Ekaveera Creations Production: Romesh Babu Direction: Siddique Star-casts: Vijay, Asin, Vadivelu, Raj Kiran, Roja, Mithra Kurien and others Music: Vidhyasagar Cinematography: Ekambaram Verdict: Experience the surprise from Vijay.
