Common Sense MediaNell MinowKids will like that Mowgli can talk to animals.
Monthly Film BulletinMFB CriticsThe spirit of the original is missing and the whole film despite the lavish nature of its production is unsatisfying.
EmanuelLevy.ComEmanuel LevyMany critics prefer the 1967 Disney version, but Korda's British production, which was nominated for 4 Oscars, is quite enjoyable.

User ReviewAndy DNow that's my kind of film .Not too long with a good story and great songs
User ReviewTim SIt was a very excellent and very nice family classic. It had very excellent cinematography, great costumes, great acting, great music, very exciting adventure, lots of action, great characters, and a great storyline. I've seen this movie in a very long time. I'd recommend this movie for kids and adults.
User ReviewEugene TI love this movie nice for a lazy afternoon
User ReviewPatrick DMuch like Sabu's other larger-than-life retelling of an epic tale, Thief of Baghdad, Jungle Book is a wonderful and breathtaking masterpiece. The colors are so vibrant for a film from the early 40s, and the actual use of animals is stunning. Even Ka the snake is pulled off surprisingly well, better than Anaconda 55 years later, sans CGI. Sabu is an amazing actor, completely convincing as Mowgli, a boy lost in the jungle and raised by a pack of wolves. It is so sad to see how painstakingly detailed and masterfully shot films once were. If only we could have another decade of film like the 40s and 50s, and hell, even another Sabu. Also, this blows the Disney version out of the water.
User ReviewBenjamin WMy favorite movie since i was a kid (i still am)
User ReviewBrian PA highly entertaining adaptation, though very dated. Needs some restoration, so that the lush Technicolour filming of the Jungle locations can be fully appreciated. A Good film, worth your time, but don't dismiss the Disney film.
