Leave your thoughts about Journey to Mecca.
GuardianPeter BradshawIt mixes historic reconstruction with modern footage, and it could be a little cheesy were it not for the spectacular images of Mount Arafat covered with white-clad pilgrims...
Total FilmTom DawsonThe storytelling may be pedestrian, but the swooping aerial images of the massed pilgrims journeying on camels and circling the Kabba are wondrous to behold.
Washington PostMichael O'SullivanWhile there's stunning scenery in the movie, it's mostly a backdrop to a narrative that's more about spirit than spectacle. In this case, the subject of the film is something that can't be captured on any size screen.
Kaplan vs. KaplanJeanne KaplanAs far as promoting a better understanding of the religion of Islam to the Western world, I think "Journey to Mecca" has provided a valiant beginning.

User ReviewMehreen HBrilliant documentry.....best seen on an IMAX screen! Stunning visuals of the Kaaba! The film gives wonderful insight into the significance of the Hajj for Muslims and also explains some of the other rituals that are practiced in Islam.
User ReviewSteve HIt's a rather cool little movie for the IMAX. The cinematography was gorgeous in it and it was really cool on IMAX. I kind of wish they made it about All of Battuah's journey and have him Start at Mecca instead of it being just about how he got to Mecca. But, I understand why they did because the filmmakers wanted to get a message across. Pretty fascinating stuff.
User ReviewJulianna SSaw this att the IMAX in Ottawa and really enjoyed it. The plot is a little slow at times and maybe a littl less narration would be better, but the visual effects and scenery were beautiful. It was a good travel story, educational, and inspiring all in one.
