This gripping spy thriller tells the true story of a man who dares to challenge the Soviet empire. While planning the maneuvers of the Warsaw Pact forces, Polish army colonel Ryszard Kuklinski has access to top secrets. He gets to know that the American nuclear counterattack against Soviet forces is planned to be executed on Polish territory. Thanks to his determination, he starts a long, lonely and psychologically exhausting cooperation with CIA. From that very moment the life of his family and his own is in constant danger as one careless move may lead to tragedy.

It based on the true story of Colonel Ryszard Kuklinski - a man who probably prevented III World War. The movie contains convincing story with quite an unexpected and surprising plot twist and a thrilling chase. Furthermore actors played reliably and emotionally. All of this is emphasizes by good scenography with a great costume design and characterization reflect the atmosphere of the communist times. The title refers to the code name of the main character Colonel Richard Kuklinski. In conclusion, if you would like to see a serious, but slow film with gripping and interesting plot and good acting, then your time will not be wasted. If you are looking for a Hollywood action movie with a lot of special effects and stuns, do not bother with this one.

All of this is emphasizes by good scenography with a great costume design and characterization reflect the atmosphere of the communist times. User Review - 8/10 by Wiebke KThe story is remarkable, the settings authentic, giving the movie a realism other spy stories tend to lack - this is not about wild action but careful concealment and daring deeds that may appear small but help lay the foundation for the Soviet Union's demise. And, as I can remember the excitement on our side of the border when Lech Walesa formed Solidarnosc, and even more important movie.

The attention given to detail is superb. And the historical accuracy is top notch. The movie develops slowly but but captured and kept my attention all throughout.
