User ReviewSomrat KThis film is another masterpiece from the men who brough you "Last Life In The Universe". Pen-Ek Ratanaruang & Christopher Doyle take you on a melencholy & visually stunning voyage. At times so slow you can't tell if it will get to its destination it defies expectation at every turn. Well worth seeing, this partnership could become as important as Wong Kar Wai & Christopher Doyle.

User ReviewJohn BHynoptic blend of pulp noir and arthouse introspection courtesy of Last Life in the Universe team. The theme of guilt runs through the deceptively meandering narrative as an amateur assassin makes a slow escape from Hong Kong, encountering characters who are both mysterious and cryptic, and who seem to assist and threaten in equal measure. Sublime lensing from Chris Doyle and a controlled central performance from Tabanobu Asano make this a must-see for enthusiasts of world cinema.
User ReviewMohamed FA beautiful art house thriller, from the director of 'Last Life In The Universe'. Top notch cinematography by Christopher Doyle, nice tight script, great soundtrack that helped set the mood, but I'm afraid it's no LLITU, it's close and they both share a certain feel, but this one doesn't have the full beauty and charm of its predecessor.
User ReviewEdward BFor some a step back from Last Life..., and while it isn't as good it does expand on the themes explored in that masterpiece in a darker and even more refrained manner. The one criticism that that makes no sense is that Doyle's cinematography is somehow sloppy, this film is visually stunning, even more so than Last Life but ultimately it doesn't manage to raise the rest of the film to its predecessor's exacting standard.
User ReviewAtlas oa great looking and atmoshericfilm from asia, but shot in english, with some scenes of spoken japanes, a hitman, is sent on a mission, to do a job, but feels something is not right, as he goes on his travels, events turn, and hes not sure what hes got into, the mood is great, for a long time, not knowing where this is going, the scenes on the boat are superb, setting story up, for something that may not come, and then turns into a nice revenge flick, but keeping in with mood set on ship, some funy and sureal moments keep this a entertaining watch,
User ReviewAnthony VNot quite the hypnotic masterpiece 'Last Life In The Universe' was, but another solid outing from Pen-Ek Ratanaruang nonetheless
