| User ReviewRob MOn dit souvent que la culture, c'est comme la confiture. Eh bien permettez-moi de vous présenter mon notoire côté anticulturel au niveau cinéma et mon intérêt sans fondement pour les séries Z. Et quelle meilleure maison de production pour cette exploration que la défunte Monogram (dont même des réalisateurs comme Truffaud et Patrice Lecomte chantaient les gloires!), que j'ai découvert en étant fan de Bela Lugosi. Car le suave hongrois s'est commis dans de nombreuses productions de la Monogram, des films "so aweful, it's wonderful". Et Invisible Ghost est, et de loin, un des plus intéressants. Il y a si peu de logiques dans ce genre de film (je crois bien que les auteurs faisaient peu de cas des conséquences psychologiques potentielles d'une série de 4 meurtres à l'intérieur de la même demeure en 72 heures!), que le délire duquel il participe bien involontairement devient en soi un moment de plaisir! Et Lugosi est impayable pour conserver sa dignité et son sérieux en récitant des inepties vides de sens. D'ailleurs, à la décharge de Lugosi, il livre là une des ses performances les moins excessives, les plus mesurées qui soient. Une rareté et un plaisir en soi. Le réalisateur, John Lewis est lui aussi plutôt intéressant. Son plan d'introduction du film est superbe. Par contre, je crois qu'il a surestimé la puissance d'un plan vu d'un feu de foyer... En soi, les inepties involontaires, le sérieux avec lequel le film est joué malgré les situations impossibles, l'incrédulité qu'il faut mettre de côté en regardant ce qui s'y passe et la superbe naïveté de la réalisation (qu'on devine comme étant une grenouille qui veut se faire aussi grosse que le boeuf) font de ce film un plaisir coupable délicieux de délire! Et puis, il y a Lugosi, toujours mémorable à sa manière... |
