User ReviewLori TBrilliant first film with an eclectic blend of sci-fi and horror.
User ReviewMorgan BSurprisingly funny and the plot works rather well. Rife with misdirection. Silly and fun. Don't take it too seriously and you'll enjoy it. The zombie bugs were surprisingly funny. The dad character was hilariously awful. The main character was rather sweet.
User ReviewDante dHilarious zombie bug apocalypse romp! It's more fun than it has a right to be. Low budget, no-name actors and cheap but adequate special effects combine with a funny fast-paced script to make this a campy bug flick classic. Somehow it all comes together despite all the cliches. The ending leaves the viewer (well this one at least) looking forward to a sequel. Big budget Hollywood producers should take notes from this little gem.
User ReviewAD VGreat monster movie, fun to watch, really enjoyed it,shame they didnt find the mother and save more people, though
User ReviewElaine MA hidden gem of a movie. Totally revolting if you hate creepy crawlies but just about tolerable for an aracnophobic like myself! Chris Marquette is brilliant - really believeable, sweet and funny like an everyday bloke turned reluctant hero who despairs of his dad. Such good twists and lots of fun and exploding insects. Excellent.
User ReviewShawn RStarship Troopers meets Zombie Land. I was pleasantly surprised, the effects look amazing and it was hilarious.
User ReviewMunish SPretty funny. Love the fake looking bugs. To much based on a true story these days, so I liked it.
User ReviewNicolas AA fairly funny zombie/insect hybrid. Really caught me off guard with how much fun I had watching it. Definitely an unexpected surprise.
User ReviewBobby LA sublimely funny B-movie. A hoard of ravenous, oversized bugs attack a small town and a few people wake up from within cocoons. Some of the infected turn into the bugs themselves. The script is funny and some great fun with the asinine and insane explanations for things in these typical movies. Take this brilliant bit of dialogue, referring to a bug captured in a utility closet- Woman- We can get a jar and take a sample of it's venom, and I'll study it. Man- How do you know about such things? Woman- I'm a student... (under her breath) of shiatsu massage. Man- I'm going to pretend that makes sense. The whole script, by writer-director Kyle Rankin is that good, and rarely makes a false move. The special effects are OK, for what I imagine that budget was. Chris Marquette, of Fanboys fame, as the main character, is rather great with the comedic timing and holds his own during the few dramatic scenes, mostly against a terrific Ray Wise, as his completely unemotional father, whom states that any emotion is being "hyper sensitive".
User ReviewLaura FA pretty fun action / horror / comedy movie. I started watching it with 0 expectations, imagining it would be just another "Asylum / SyFy" type of movie, but got positively surprised. - The characters are pretty likable - you actually root FOR them, instead of against them as (at least I do) in most other "modern horror" films. They also don't act stupid - no "lets split up to cover more ground" or other bs like that; - It doesn't try to shove a "bogus pseudo-science" down our throats - you won't get a lot of explanations, but while watching it you simply won't care much about those anyways; - It manages to mix action, horror and humor in a successful way, not letting one spoil the others - the movie doesn't take itself too seriously and neither expect us to do that; - The actors are pretty convincing and in general the characters don't fall in the usual clichés; - The special effects / creatures are pretty ok - better than the ones you see in most movies like this. The only part that bugged me (no pun intended) was the ending, but I don't think it stops you from enjoying the movie. Summing up, Infestation is a pretty entertaining movie for horror flick fans.
