Imaginaerum tells the story of an elderly composer, Tom, who suffers from severe dementia. As he has had the disease for years and has regressed into childhood, he remembers practically nothing from his adult life. His music, friends, all his past including the memory of his daughter are a blur in his fragile mind. All he has left is the imagination of a ten year old boy. As he drifts away into coma, it seems impossible to get back what he has lost. Or is it? The film is a journey between two different dimensions. Tom travels through his imaginary world seeking answers and finding memories, while his daughter, Gem, tries to recover the bond she had once shared with her father in the real world. As they have become more and more distant from each other over the years, and as there's even greater obstacles separating them now Tom's coma and his imminent death Gem's project feels doomed to failure. However, through Tom's darkest secrets, Gem discovers the path she must follow in order to find her father again. There are some questions we must ask ourselves before entering the world of Imaginaerum. What is most important in life? Can the power of memories protect us during our last moments? Will our imagination help us find the spark of life in the deepest darkness? Can we still find love after bitter forgiveness? Imaginaerum is an emotional fantasy-adventure powered by the music of Nightwish. The story reminds us of our childhood where the smallest but most precious thing meant everything and losing it would have left an everlasting scar. Now its time to reopen the wound and see what became of it, but above all, where it came from.

User ReviewNguy?n LNice heartwarming tale of remembering those close to us. If you like the music it adds to the film, but if you don't it's just an interruption to the film

User ReviewSílvio TMy son in college said this: I happened across this movie in my travels to find something to pass the time one night and found myself glued to the chair. Imaginaerum has an absolutely stunning soundtrack to ride along with the abnormal and amazing visual effects. PLUS the story leads to an extraordianty end where- oops almost gave the ending away. This movie pulls a bit of intelligence and a bit of tear-jerking for the ladies out there and blends it together for a movie that any softy man like myself would love. BUT BEWARE- it can be a little weird. I'd like to think that everyone's subconscience is this...complicated.
User ReviewJames Kfinally got around to watching this movie was very good and moving stranger and bizarre at times but moving.
User ReviewClayton PI just got the international blue ray copy in the mail today. I must say, totally worth the money and the wait. The music score is just fantastic (it's Nightwish, can't go wrong with them), the story is so heartbreaking and really captures the sadness of loosing a family member to a crumbling memory. The images are very clever and at times very dark, but they never lack in that beautiful quality. Very like the album covers of Nightwish albums. It truly is a masterpiece, and I am so happy to have a copy.
User ReviewMario SGreat Mivie. Music by Nightwish. Story develops slowly, but no real lenghts. Good acting, great musical score.
User ReviewMelody WI loved the movie. Always been a big fan of Nightwish and the fact that they actually made a movie, not to mention a movie that was actually pretty good, blows me away
User ReviewClinton PFantastic movie, recommend to anyone and everyone.

User ReviewKyle KI recently finished watching this movie... and i am unable... no INCAPABLE of saying anything negative about this masterpiece of cinematography! But please, ignore my words. Watch it for yourself. The blend of childhood sensation with adult reality is breathtaking, and the tale is flooded in metaphors and packed to the seams with hidden depth. HOWEVER! I cannot stress this enough, but this is not a movie for morons. If you cannot think, or draw logical conclusions, YOU WILL NEVER enjoy this. So open your mind, and embark into the most comprehensive fantasy world since Lewis Carroll first put pen to paper and made "Alice in wonderland"
