User Review - 10/10 by Jed D"One of my favourite B-Cheese, horror flicks."
User Review - 8/10 by Tony Mits good the movie looked like made at home but the story was interesting
User Review - 6/10 by Jenn TDecent cast but mediocre plot (very much something that has already been done).
User Review - 6/10 by Kevin MOk the Hydra is totally fake. But all in all the movie was ok. This is a movie to watch when you don't have anything good to see.
User Review - 6/10 by Marc LHydra is the story of a ship carrying a group of millionaire hunters who have paid to hunt the most dangerous game, a group of convicts who lucked out in a supposed bad justice system. The hunt is organized by seedy businessman Alex McArthur (whom I loved in Suspended Animation) and even seedier captain Michael Shamus Wiles (Letherface: TCM III, The X-Files) who, after some hiccups, come across a secluded island that is perfect for the hunt, but unknown to them, us viewers are already aware that the island contains the mythological Hydra monster (yeah, the multi-headed snake monster from Greek Mythology) that is seriously pissed off and tears just about anyone apart that it comes into contact with. It's up to lead convict George Stults (7th Heaven) who is actually a former special ops guy to try to lead the other convicts off the island to safety, not to mention fight the bad guys and the Hydra. Director Andrew Prendergast definitely delivers his quota on making a cheap, silly B-movie primed for the Sci-fi Channel (which the film actually debuted on). If you're going to watch this movie, renting it would be better than watching it on TV, as the rental is an unrated edition featuring all the CGI-animated gore you could ask for. On that note, I would have to say the special effects are the worst part of this film. They're almost cartoony. However, the story is engaging and dumb fun, especially when the plot goes haywire and Hercules' magical sword is introduced. Overall, this is dumb fun and strictly catered towards Sci-fi channel/bad movie enthusiasts. Don't be a moron and watch this movie and give it terrible ratings when you knew damn well what you were getting yourself into. Overall, not bad. Effectively gets the job done for me.
User Review - 6/10 by Kristina YThe people who went on that island to hunt bit off more than they could chew. That snake made everyone a target from the people who watched the hunt on the boat to the people who were being hunted by the hunters.
User Review - 4/10 by Tarrin RSci-Fi's really getting lazy on the special effects~ :P
User Review - 4/10 by Beaux CEVIL EVIS director Andrew Prendergast and BLIND INJUSTICE scenarist Peter Sullivan appropriate the venerable manhunt plot from THE MOST DANGEROUS GAME and liven things up by placing a Hydra, the multi-head snake from Greek mythology that Hercules tangled with, for their contemporary horror epic HYDRA. Three men and one woman wind up being hunted on an uninhabited island by four wealthy safari hunters who have anted up $10-million a piece for the thrill of the kill. Each of the hunters has suffered the heartbreak of losing a loved one to a criminal so this amounts to a form of payback. Vincent Camden (Alex McArthur of the DESPERADO made-for-TV westers) calls it a higher form of justice. When so the Aegeas freighter captain, Mr. Sweet (Michael Shamus Wiles of FIGHT CLUB) and his second-in-command, Mr. Winters (Dwayne Adway of SOUL PLANE) inform Camden that the uninhabited island scheduled the manhunt on has vanished, they set a course for another island that they find on an old map. The trouble is that this island with its numerous volcanic eruptions is the home of the mythical snake the Hydra. Previously, three months before, the snake killed three men on an archeological expedition, but a woman managed to escape. Unfortunately for her, the ship that brought them to the island sank. The Hydra is a gigantic snake with three heads, but every time that any of the heads is destroyed, two more heads grow back to replace it. Camden kidnapped three killers and Mr. Sweet added a fourth, Tim Nolan (George Stults of SUPER CAPERS), who happens to be a former Special Forces soldier. The special effects are marginal and the characters sometimes behave in an idiotic manner. For example, Nolan, cuts off all but one head and it grows back and searches for him.
User Review - 4/10 by Ken SThe most dangerous game meets a giant Hydra. Tedium ensues.
User Review - 2/10 by Darren MMonster movie silliness at its most average.
