Shrouded in mystery, an exhaustive multidisciplinary scientific study was initiated and spearheaded by enigmatic aerospace mogul, Robert Bigelow. A team of PhD level scientists was deployed. The scientists and their investigators spent several years on the ground, interviewing witnesses, searching for explanations, and directly confronting an unknown intelligence. Recent headlines have revealed that a second publicly funded paranormal study was initiated by the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) which hoped to determine if the phenomena at the ranch could be of concern to national security. Secrets have been kept. Big Secrets. For more than two decades we have wondered about the mysteries of the Uintah Basin and the Skinwalker Ranch. This story can now be told. The film includes rare, previously unreleased footage and interviews recorded while the scientific investigations were underway.

If you have read the book though, there is very little new in this documentary beyond about 15 minutes of content near the end of the movie. Despite claims early on in the film about how much new has gone on since the book was published. for someone who hasn't read the book, it would be a more compelling film. |

| User ReviewCelluloid CTedious documentary about a group paid by a very rich guy to investigate reports of spooky goings-on at a Utah ranch which he owned for some years. If you can handle the overly dramatic music and inappropriate BIG WORDS POPPING UP ONSCREEN RANDOMLY, then the rest of the presentation is passable. I imagine the investigators purchased their 'Doctor' titles online because their conclusion is that their lack of any vaguely plausible evidence is down to the "entity" being conscious and deliberately hiding itself and any evidence. There are a couple of locals interviewed who are encouraged by the interviewer to agree that what they have seen must be supernatural or extraterrestrial. These would have made interesting 3 minute YouTube clips. But the highlights are the nonsense one-liners spouted by the narrator and participants, here are my favourites: "Imagine a place between shadow and substance" "This is a hunt. A hunt for answers to unformed questions" "I was like you... until I wasn't" "We used dogs as bio-sensors" "We live in the middle of some other kind of intelligence" "A chainsaw vanished while being used" "The high strangeness of these kind of objects" "Frequently things would happen just off camera" And then Robbie Williams turns up desperately wanting to believe. These people have too much money and too much time on their hands. Only for complete braindead suckers, or for those who love a laugh at/with the paranormal documentary genre. I was surprised that out of 40 hours of tapes provided by George Knapp from the Skinwalker Ranch, this film only showed approximately 30 seconds of material documenting anything remotely paranormal. Honestly, the interviews about this ranch given over the past ten to fifteen years were much more exciting and detailed than this documentary. Being a fan of the paranormal genre, I wish I could recommend this movie, but I just can't. It's too bad. |
