Narrated by two-time Golden Globe® nominee Ewan McGregor, Humpback Whales is an extraordinary journey into the mysterious world of one of nature's most awe-inspiring marine mammals. Set in the spectacular waters of Alaska, Hawaii and the remote islands of Tonga, this ocean adventure offers audiences an up-close look at how these whales communicate, sing, feed, play and take care of their young. Captured for the first time with IMAX® 3D cameras, and found in every ocean on earth, humpbacks were nearly driven to extinction 50 years ago, but today are making a slow but remarkable recovery. Join a team of researchers as they unlock the secrets of the humpback and find out why humpbacks are the most acrobatic of all whales, why they sing their haunting songs, and why these intelligent, 55-foot, 50-ton animals migrate up to 10,000 miles round-trip every year.

Tolucan TimesTony MedleyThis exceptional view of these magnificent mammals in IMAX 3D is an exhilarating film-viewing experience you can get nowhere else. I hated to see it end.
The Hollywood ReporterSheri LindenImmersive in ways that not many movies can claim, Humpback Whales is a prime example of the power of large-format documentaries to educate, delight and inspire.
Wall Street JournalJoe MorgensternI’ve long been a fan of IMAX nature documentaries, but Humpback Whales, directed by Greg MacGillivray, is something special.

VarietyGeoff BerkshireVeteran filmmaker Greg MacGillivray (“Everest”) seizes the opportunity with striking imagery, which goes a long way toward compensating for his frequently over-earnest messaging.
User ReviewZmagee ZWant to see this movie so bad. Can't find the original on youtube so i will find it somewhere else
User ReviewSquaredRenEwam's work as an narrator is very good in this documentary. The documentary itself is pretty interesting and very modern. New aspects of the whales are told in a way that it's very straight to the point and fun at the same time. Making it a very good documentary recommended to anyone interested in this topic. The only downside is that it's short, and you will want more.
