Now, in love's name, high expectations for a fresh start and a deadly semi-automatic pistol separate hope from despair. Can life be as easy as a fairy tale?

| User ReviewAnne FA doomed suicide pact set in working-class pre-war Paris. This is a great film by Marcel Carne (apologies for the spelling error - accented Es turn into gibberish) starring Arletty and Louis Jouvet. If poetic realism is your thing you'll love this film. |

| User ReviewJean-Marie LI was in wonder watching this film. I adore the poetic realism movement and Carne' has directed some of my favourite features. Here Arletty and Jouvet shine in their roles, which are brought to life also thanks to a script which seemed to exude wit and romanticism. I loved the star-crossed love story and was very impressed with the set recreation of this spot of Paris. This film had ATMOSPHERE, ATMOSPHERE! :) |
