7M Pictures - 4/10 by Kevin CarrIf you look at this movie as even remotely coming close to Home Alone, it's a disaster.

User Review - 10/10 by Kyle LThe best Home Alone movie since the original Home Alone. Among all of the Home Alone sequels. This is the best in the series. When I finally get to watch Home Alone The Holiday Heist. I was like wow! Big Surprise! This movie was funnier than I thought. The plot of this film is simple. This movie is about a young boy name Finn Baxter who moves to a new house from California to Maine to their new house. Finn is afraid that his new home is haunted by an evil evil spirit. When Finn's parents leave and got stranded he and his sister Alexis are Home Alone. Finn sets up traps to catch the ghost but soon instead of catching the ghost he instead captures a couple of burglars who are attempting to rob the painting that is located in they're secret room and it's up to Finn and his sister to defend they're home from a group of thieves to prevent them from stealing the mysterious painting. I seriously had a good time watching this movie and to be honest this movie was so fun to watch and it was super funny. This movie seriously also has a lot of minor improvements over the fourth Home Alone film. Like Home Alone 4. Home Alone The Holiday Heist focus on a slightly different style and this is the only Home Alone film that stands on it's own because the previous films are true to they're selves and this is the second Home Alone film that doesn't focus on the McCallister family and the first film not to have a setting in Chicago. What's great about Home Alone The Holiday Heist is that the whole movie has a lot of funny humor and the entire film is so comedic and the movie itself focus on a completely different scale than it's previous predecessors. Everything in Home Alone The Holiday Heist has been slightly improved and the entire film is much more funnier on a higher scale. Like Home Alone 4. Part 5 focus on something much more new and the entire film is impressive for one reason. What's great about Home Alone 5 is that the whole movie has better traps. I love all of the traps in this movie. My personal favorite trap is the one where Jessica gets poured with tar after Finn traps her body in the window that was super funny. I also like the part when Jessica gets hit in the head with the Santa shoe that Finn placed with heavy wood and it's super funny to watch that scene so far. I also like the part when Finn also hit Jessica in the butt when the two guys try to pull her out of the window and it's super funny to watch that part in the film so far. I also like the garage trap where one of Sinclair's guys get hit with a lot of Christmas balls when the big mower started driving in the garage. The slippery floor trap was also funny as well and that is really similar to the original Home Alone film's trap where Kevin placed water on the floor and stairs of his house outside and I like watching all of the traps so far. Now the acting is impressive in this film. Christian Martyn did a good job playing the role of Finn Baxter and I'm hoping to see more of his future films. Jodelle Ferland did a good job with her role in the film and she was so gorgeous when I saw her role as Alexis Baxter and she looks super pretty not only her acting skills are great but she also looks beautiful and gorgeous as well while her role in Silent Hill was really creepy and scary here in Home Alone 5 she looks beautiful, stunning and gorgeous as well.. And the three bad guys did a good job with they're roles as well. Malcolm McDowell was impressive with his role as Sinclair even the two members of Sinclair were great so far. Director Peter Hewitt did a good job with his work with this film and I'm hoping to see more of his future works in the future so far. I did like his work in the film Zoom but Peter Hewitt's work on Home Alone 5 is a bit more better so far. Overall Home Alone The Holiday Heist gets a 10/10 because the whole movie has a lot of funny humor and it is a huge improvement over Home Alone 4 so far.

User Review - 8/10 by Felix CWe all know the drill, it's a Home Alone film that isn't the first one, so it's gonna be godawful isn't it? Actually, would you be surprised to hear that it was not only not painful, it was actually very enjoyable? Well, I was, while it is a Christmas film and I always have a weakness for them because they're usually cheesy and very silly but it's Christmas, so who cares but this film was fun. Firstly, it was well acted which was a surprise because everyone could have phoned it in and literally no one would care because they'd have made the movie anyway. It was funny; yes, some of the non-slapstick jokes were very funny and I laughed out loud about three times, jokes that usually require any wit in these kind of films just make you cringe, but no, this was a funny film. It had a heart; this film really cared about its characters and showed some sides to children that we don't usually see, namely the online friend thing, just because you haven't met someone face to face does not make them any less of a real friend and it deals with that issue quite well, while also making a couple of jokes, which did make me laugh also but it's all in jest. The other characters get development too but the main boy does because he's the main character. I know I already said this but the acting was great but from the main child star was great. He was very very good and carried the movie greatly, while the traps he sets up are clearly more advanced than they would be if a 10 year old made them (like in all the movies) but he acts like a real boy, he isn't a saint but he's not painfully annoying. I liked him. And another main reason is the whole theme for them being 'Home Alone' was actually believable, it wasnt the very stupid they left him at an airport, no matter how good the first Home Alone is, the parenting in that film is just laughably inept and I don't know any mother who would act like that. Another pleasantly was Malcolm McDowell, he's always worth a watch and him and his fellow treasure hunters, well, that's what they were, they weren't really bad guys, played off each other well getting up to various shenanigans. Saying what I did about them not actually being bad guys is what sort of made me feel bad for them, they were getting all the usual Home Alone slapstick shtick but they really didnt do anything wrong, they weren't trying to hurt anyone, atleast not on purpose and they did rightfully deserve what they wanted, (although they could have done it in a less illegal way but that wouldn't have made the movie make sense, but I digress) While I did like this film there are some problems. At the start everyone makes a big fuss about the fact that's its a haunted house and continues down this path for a good amount of screen time and then after awhile it's just dropped? What was the point in talking about it if it was never going to be brought up again. Oh well, the film forgets and hopes you do too. The mother of the family was just a little too overboard, she lost it anytime someone wasnt perfect and just raged whenever the opportune rises and she jumps to conclusions way too quickly but she also acts like a real mother sometimes too, shes protective of her family and will do anything for them. At the start while I was thinking I wouldn't like it, I didn't feel like this was a Home Alone film until someone actually said the words 'home alone' while I'm not sure it's a valid point because what's a Home Alone film supposed to feel like? Its still something I can comment on. Give in an enjoy. Its not art but it isn't supposed to be.
