Filmcritic.com - 9/10 by Christopher NullHeckler isn't perfect, or even especially memorable, but if nothing else, it's at least the best movie that Kennedy's ever been involved with. And you can put that on the poster!
BrianOrndorf.com - 8/10 by Brian OrndorfHeckler doesn't penetrate like a proper documentary should; it's more silly than exploratory, missing a prime opportunity to crack open a dialogue between critic and performer that could generously benefit both parties.
User Review - 10/10 by Joe MAn impressive amount of footage and information, highly recommended. This simply staggering array of opinions is easily one of the more fun and easily one of the funniest films I have seen in years and i could not recommend this film highly enough. However lack of focus marred by Jamie Kennedy's PERSONAL and vindictive attempt to redeem "Son of the Mask" almost derails the film. The lack of consistency between the films content and the packaging is jarring having the picture go on for a large portion about the criticism towards Kennedy and how critics are terrible. However the DVD case shows nothing but praise reveals that someone associated with this film can not comprehend any forms of negative criticism however that mindset is completely diffused the minute they receive commendation.
User Review - 10/10 by Tobias MPretty awesome movie. Just wanted to say I was a kid when i watched the mask and loved it. Was a little older but still loved the son of the mask. Also Carrot Top is one of my favorite comedians. Saw him in Portland and made me laugh so hard. I'm glad he (and everyone else) never listened to the critics because then people like me wouldn't be able to enjoy your accomplishments. What George Lucas said in here is right and speaking of him... Its not only performers who think these guys are lame. Many of us fans do to... Its come to the point where when someone hears i'm a star wars fan and they try to tell me how the new ones blah blah blah... and the old ones blah blah blah. I don't give a fuck about your opinion. Anyways Jamie Kennedy, Carrot Top, George Lucas, everyone else = BAWSE.
User Review - 10/10 by Deston NKennedy really explores a interesting topic with this documentary. The bad criticism just made me want to check out more of his stuff. The documentary itself was really good.
User Review - 10/10 by Brian MAnyone who's ever been on stage performing stand up, knows how tough it is to get heckled. It is often beneficiary, but other wise normally a scripted glitch that interferes with a show that people spent money on. This documentary focuses on the heckler, the critic, the reviewer, the blogger and thee whole nine yards. It humanizes the people in the spot light and calls out the openly crass, honestly wicked people in the bashing business. Names like Lewis Black, Bill Hicks, Bill Mahr and even folks in sports, movie production, musicians & magicians put their personal accounts on the line. Heckler is honest and that is the reason why I like it. Anybody who chooses to have a position where they put themselves with the public eye, not just Comics or other celebrities but public speakers, teachers, writers, chefs, dancers, painters......anybody who's ever gone to a public school or has been on a team will relate to the rawness of people with opinions who go the extra mile to crush ones image or liveliness without even knowing who it is you are shutting down. I recommend this flick! Cheers!
User Review - 10/10 by Jon OGreat flick! Don't take it so hard - you're funny as hell. People need to realize you don't write, direct, and act in everything you appear in. Every good actor has had great films and not so great. If you can't take something positive out of what you've seen you're just a pessimist and you'll never change those people. If you didn't make me laugh this time you've made me laugh before! Keep it up ;)
User Review - 10/10 by Nick HThis was a great movie about how reviews should be written critically, to both point out flaw but also offer ideas on improvements.
User Review - 10/10 by Guillermo DLoved it. It's the other side of the coin for criticism on filming.
User Review - 10/10 by Joshua IThis may be one of the most important movies in the age of anonymity. I was expecting a funny movie with clips of comedians tearing into hecklers. What I saw was a movie masquerading as a comedian's backlash against critics, that was actually about the much deeper psychological issues that have been exacerbated by the barrierless, anonymous internet. This documentary was more candid than a serious documentary maybe should be, but it was insightful and engaging nonetheless. Moreover it was not an all out rail against critics, more of a critique of criticism. It does not have the polished look of today's documentaries, but it has qualities that most polished documentaries fail to possess: an abashed frankness, proper research, and rebuttal from the argument's detractors. Not Jamie Kennedy's best comedic piece, as it's not comedy. Definitely his best work, and one of the most thoughtful documentaries I've seen in the past few years. I'll still be waiting for my juvenile indulgence of seeing hecklers get the verbal backlash, though. Just sayin'.
