Movie Reviews

Digital Spy - 8/10 by Priya JoshiThis is exemplary cinema and a work of great artistic merit.
Hindustan Times - 8/10 by Sweta KaushalVishal Bhardwaj's Haider goes where Bollywood rarely treads: the movie based on William Shakespeare's Hamlet goes beyond clichés on Kashmir and its characters aren't trying to be entertaining.
The New York Times - 8/10 by Rachel SaltzThough the political backdrop often overwhelms or distorts the family drama, Mr. Bhardwaj provides the occasional sharp reminder of how cinematically he can construct Shakespearean moments.
Reuters - 7/10 by Shilpa JamkhandikarHaider starts off promisingly. It's too bad that the promise never delivers.
The Straits Times (Singapore) - 7/10 by Deepika ShettyUsing Hamlet as his inspiration, director Vishal Bharadwaj's new film finally does full justice to India's under-rated acting dynamos -- Kapoor and Tabu -- without trivialising the larger issue of Kashmir that forms the backdrop.
Hollywood Reporter - 6/10 by Lisa TseringSome of the film’s most effective moments are masterful in their visual storytelling skill.
Filmfare - 6/10 by Rachit GuptaIt may be flawed but it's just too beautiful.
The Guardian - 6/10 by Mike McCahillIt makes the text feel newly alive, bristly, radical. A palpable hit, in any language.
New Statesman - 6/10 by Ryan GilbeyWhat else can I say? Get thee to a multiplex.
User Review - 10/10 by upsc007This movie proves that Bollywood have high standard. It's a pack of thrill and drama together. Shahid Kapoor and Tabu are at their best. Vishal Bharadwaj is undoubtedly one of the top directors of the world.
