| User ReviewAlonso APablo Larraín's first effort shows promise when the Chilean auteur lets loose his bleak and outrageous sensibilities (mainly portrayed through Alfredo Castro's character, who will later cement himself as Larraín's muse), but its bugged down when it aims for the conventional and doesn't know how to handle a convoluted sub-plot. Still is worth it for the moments that show the artist behind Toni Manero and El Club. Picture Whiplash by way of Darren Aronofsky. |
