From the sight of a police officer this movie depicts the life in New York's infamous South Bronx. In the center is "Fort Apache", as the officers call their police station, which really seems like an outpost in enemy's country. There are some great performances, (Paul Newman stands out, but then he would), but the star of the movie's got to be the Bronx. It's the setting that makes it, not the actors, the plot or even the action - and there's plenty of that. The ending? Ohhhhhh . . . . son of a *bitch*. Worth anybody's time. |
