SalonCharles TaylorOne of the best American movies of the year and one of the lushest movies in recent memory.
New York Magazine/VultureJohn LeonardA noir written and directed by Paul Schrader that's so listless and numbing we need not wonder why it went directly to cable.
Ozus' World Movie ReviewsDennis SchwartzThis one layed an egg with the whiny and pleading Joseph Fiennes character reduced to saying mostly corny love lines to the boring Gretchen Mol character.
The New York TimesJulie SalamonEveryone on screen is relentlessly gloomy, as if parched for a drop of wit, which isn't forthcoming.
VarietyTodd McCarthyPaul Schrader hits a low water mark with Forever Mine, a strenuously straight-faced film noir wanna-be that edges perilously close to self-parody.
The A.V. ClubNathan RabinForever Mine explores many of Schrader's pet themes—obsession, revenge, jealousy, betrayal, guilt—but they've seldom felt as empty, shallow, or ridiculous.
User ReviewAlexandra Vgreat cuz Joseph is here, so cute as always...bad cuz he almost dies in the end...ever since I saw it I hate Ray Liotta
User ReviewNathália PThis is a terrific movie, and If I could, I would rate it 10 stars. Joseph Fiennes and Gretchen Mol have very good chemistry together. As for Ray Liotta- he plays much hated husband to perfection. Many people dont care for the ending very much-but I believe it is intended to let the viewer use their imagination (if you have one) and finish the story in a manner which is pleasing to you. My thought is that the ending is a new beginning with his fight for survival to stay with the woman that has never been loved by anyone more than she was by him.
