Leave your thoughts about Fear City.
Washington PostPaul Attanasio... there's something genuinely nauseating about the way "Fear City" traffics in women's bodies, alive and dead.
Birth.Movies.Death.Jacob KnightFear City definitely sees Ferrara streamlining his "punk rock" style; nevertheless, the usual perverse weirdness the director peddles definitely peeks through.

User ReviewMatthieu CFuck Grindhouse : voilà le film d'exploitation ultime.
User ReviewBill BSleazy, ridiculous and over the top at varying turns, this one is so much fun. A nameless asshole is killing hookers in NYC for reasons that are never made clear; he's just a martial arts enthusiast asshole who wants to torment and murder women who are less than half his size, which makes the attacks look all the more ridiculous. Not for all tastes I'm sure, but I would highly recommend this one.
User ReviewJason AWonderfully cliche and at the end when the main guy goes to confession to confess that he's going to have to kill a stripper slasher the priest simply responds with let's say some hail mary's some our Fathers and you need to get busy you know you definitely have a winner on your hands.

User ReviewRichard SIt's sleazy, it's cheesey, it's Ferrara's Fear City
User ReviewJeff WI'm not a cinephile. I look at actors, try and get into the plot, and I listen to soundtracks. I'm not a movie snob, so this may be why I really enjoyed this Abel Ferrara film when it was on my local ABC affiliate late one Sunday night. I think this is what you call a B movie. Hell, Billy Dee Williams plays the crack detective--I think this was subsequent to his Colt .45 liquor commercials. The main idea is that some psycho is killing strippers in New York (when this sort of stuff was almost believable). Tom Berenger runs the stripper agency, and who doesn't have a soft spot for Berenger? If nothing else, watch it for the music. D-Train, Sharon Redd (RIP), and David Johansen (of The New York Dolls) are featured.
User ReviewChristopher BFerrara sleaze, plain and simple, but what great sleaze it is! Two co-owners of a strip bar decide to hunt down a serial killer who's been offing their employees. This is great stuff for those who are grindhouse fans, and I don't mean that friggin' Rodreguez and Tarantino shitheap.
