User ReviewKevin RCareful what you wish for. Tom Keller has survived an outbreak of some kind that turns people into flesh eating zombies. Initially, he believes he is the last remaining survivor; however, one day he randomly encounters three additional survivors. Tom takes them back to a compound he lived near as a youth and they begin developing a community. Slowly they find more and more people and begin rebuilding civilization. The problem, as Tom and his group try to start over, the zombie continue to evolve and pose a greater threat with each passing day. "I can still end it when I want to." Niki Drozdowski delivers Extinction: G.M.O Chronicles in his major motion picture directorial debut. The storyline for this picture was very fun and entertaining and reminded me very much of season 3 of the Walking Dead television series. The acting is better than I anticipated and the cast includes Daniel Buder, Tobias Kay, Lee Rychter, and Patrick Molleken. "I decided not to bail out on this mess." This movie was airing for free on XBOX Live this weekend so I decided to give it a shot (hard to turn down a free zombie apocalypse movie). I absolutely adored the first 2/3rds of the film and would likely have scored this a 9; however, as the zombies get smarter and evolve the film got a bit annoying (the final attack was not well done). Overall, I definitely recommend seeing this film but it was not as good as it could have been. "Luckily, they are stupid." Grade: B
User ReviewWilly MAwesome zombie flick! If you played Left 4 Dead, this is a no miss. They have boomers, tanks, witches, and hunters.
User ReviewMad MSolid Zombie flick. For fans of the zombie/horror genre, don't miss it. Sure, the acting is subpar (partly due to the actors speaking English, and it clearly isn't the primary language of most) and the budget was small. The zombies do not move at a snail's pace; some are really fast. The survival techniques and challenges have a very realistic feel - so much that it makes the story very engaging. Hoping for a sequel.
User ReviewRob PIt wasn't terrible. Slow story leading up to no real ending. Nothing new, if this was based on a book, the book might be interesting since the story is stemming from GMO in food.
User ReviewJennifer LNot bad, but not great. Very drawn out. Could have been so much better. The few moments you start getting into it or getting tense it chops to another scene and leaves you hanging.
User ReviewJoshua MThe most boring movie about the zombie apocalypse I've ever seen.
User ReviewJordon JIt was decent but it was a little too long and dragged making it rather boring so for that reason i can't recommend it. I say SKIP IT!!!
User ReviewZandra EIf you like an edgy, European, kinda low-budget zombie flick, you might like this. Clearly, though, it's not for a "mainstream" audience, and it really is a grind at times. Still, it's definitely different from the usual fare you see from Hollywood.
User ReviewBrian CVery enjoyable movie where people are turning into zombies (for lack of a better term) caused originally from genetically modified food. This is a great character based story of the survivors of this apocalypse, all well rounded and interesting. They find refuge in an army base while trying to find other survivors. While Extinction has lots of parallels with The Walking Dead, it stands on its own with character development and originality of the 'zombies'.
User ReviewGrady HIt's just boring. I mean, there are some interesting things here, but overall it's just sluggish and hard to watch even for a zombie movie.
