Leave your thoughts about Exotica.
Film Freak CentralBryant FrazerOne of the most despairing movies, and yet there is in the precision of its craft and the depth of its empathy something fundamentally uplifting.
Film Comment MagazineRobert HortonAtom Egoyan makes his most conventionally-satisfying film in Exotica. I don't mean that as a putdown: it's his best movie, too, though some of his early academic-theory fans may be put off at its accessibility.
Ozus' World Movie ReviewsDennis SchwartzUses its eroticism as a head trip into loneliness, alienation and desperation.
EmanuelLevy.ComEmanuel LevyEgoyan's first Cannes Film Fest entry is an engaging tale of sexual desire and alienation.
Zap2it.comDan FienbergEgoyan's masterpiece -- a twisting tale of erotic obsession and hypnotic storytelling.
Internet ReviewsSteve RhodesThe director/writer (Atom Egoyan) manages to take a lot of risks in his writing, but his directing was too cautious.
User ReviewMagesh RIn a world of temptation, obsession is the deadliest desire !! Man This Movie Is PREFECT in every way Possible...I woud Say it stands hand in hand with Stanley Kubrick's Eyes Wide Open !!!
User ReviewAli JHands down Atom Egoyan's best film in my opinion. It just works on every level and creates it's own unique atmospere and tone. A brilliant piece of work.
User ReviewChris SThe nightclub here in Exotica doesn't seem to be for the purpose of fulfilling fantasies and lust. It seems to be for the purpose of comfort and reassurance, well, especially to Francis, who has been seriously affected by his daughter's death. And his daily routine is ruined when he is manipulated by a jealous ex-lover to touch her. What's going on with all of these characters, the deeper meaning to what they're doing, is eventually revealed in the end in the greatest way possible.
