| User ReviewGeorge TBy some odd fluke in my public television channel's programming, I had intended to watch "Secrets of the Dead" as the was on the t.v. schedule but instead found this concert playing during that timeslot. Say what you will about Elvis but the man has a golden voice, a beautiful face with that mischievous smile and an incredible stage presence. The concert consisted nothing more than The King himself, a few backup singers, a live band and an auditorium full of fans (men and women alike but mostly women in the front row, naturally...) and it was totally engaging. Just the man and his voice; no gimmicks-- no pyro-technics, no laser-light show, no waterfalls, no cirque-like acrobatics, not even a fog machine, nor a jumbo-tron. The most effects the concert had was a wall full of lights that blinked on and off; but this concert was still more amazing than any of the concerts these modern "singers" can ever hope to achieve.... and I'm not even an Elvis fan! But he was really cool to watch and his talent undeniable. It must have been so cool to watch him live. |
