User ReviewRajaish Tthis is a real classic, one of my all time best movies, how close to todays life and the problems we as humans have created for ourselves.
User ReviewAnthony JWow, is this really just a student film? Very innovative, original and well put together, and a perfect way to push the boundaries, considering the way most films were "meant to be" in those days. But I think you really need to be a major sci-fi geek (like me) to appreciate this film 100%.
User ReviewRus Aawesome foley and soundtrack - the scene with the dude beating off to tv footage of cops beating a dude up = comedy gold
User ReviewAlvaro AGreat Movie, Sometime actual life feels that way.
User ReviewDave HThis was the student film that spawned the later theatrical release starring Robert Redford.
User ReviewDevon SIt was Used as the opening Sample for the Downward Spiral, It was probably George Lucases Least Known Work, Very 1984ish It's a Classic. . .
User ReviewJonathan SGeorge Lucus' original short film. Later expanded with bigger actors and budget in 'THX 1138' for 1971. Without this, there would be no 'Star Wars', no THX picture and sound. So this stands as an important short for a (at one time) talented director.
User ReviewKevin QYou can't compare a student to a feature film. Student films are up to the point where the purpose is to express or show the student's talent and knowledge of the craft. For that purpose, Lucas' student film is effective on all technical and visual counts possible and would later inspire a very "bizarre" but very good sci-fi film.
User ReviewOliver EA ladmark in sci-fi filmmaking. This short film shocked me because of its genius and kept me thinking for a loooong while what did it mean and the futuristic message of it. Don't miss this. It's the short film you must see before THX 1138. 80/100
User ReviewAndrew HYes, that George Lucas directed this Ayn Rand-type movie...similar in theme to Logan's Run, a single person attempts to leave the constraints of tightly controlled society.
