Leave your thoughts about Doctor Who: Planet of the Spiders.
| User ReviewJosh RJon Pertwee's last stint as the doctor and emotions are running high. Featuring a beautiful moment where the doctor is genuinely scared and a really well executed death scene (although the regeneration itself was a bit pants). It is clear however, Barry Letts gave Jon Pertwee more of an opportunity to do what he wanted as it was his last story, with a chase sequence involving Bessie, The who mobile, a hovercraft, a boat and a mini helicopter which took up the entire length of episode 2. Otherwise, an interesting and different story. |
| User ReviewCallum BOne thing that sets the final stories for the Doctor actors of the past from the final stories of NuWho is that back then, a final story didn't require overly loud and bombastic orchestral music and weepy final moments from the soon-to-be-dead Doctor, that said that didn't make the stories any better, and here it showed. The idea is magnificently terrifying. A planet of spiders. But why do they look so... Fake and skinny? I'm terrified of spiders and these didn't creep me out. Apparently they objected from using blown-up tarantula image projections because it would have scared kids. Um, isn't that why kids watch this show? And the story honestly is quite weak and Sarah Jane doesn't do much. |
