CNNRadioPaul ChambersMakes "The Blair Witch Project" look like "Citizen Kane."
User ReviewMatt SAn fantastic little horror gem that was an pleasant low budget surprise. This was an ultra creepy supernatural/horror movie that kind of reminded me in some parts of the horror film The Blair Witch Project but a better version of it and without the shaky cameras. I thought the acting was better than expected and the atmoshere top notch with enough scares to please. This is one of those movies that gets better and better with each passing minute and ends with a bang! I urge them to make a sequel because there is plenty of room for one. Overall I can't recommend this enough because it will surprise you in more ways than one, so turn off the lights and get ready to get spooked! Strongly recommended!
User ReviewBruce BI'm told this is a cheap British horror flick, guess that?s true with Nina Kwok added to the picture my thoughts turned to some Japanese horror remake. Its not the best of horror licks, the images into trees were pretty good, but it lacks the over all fright factor that makes up a good horror film. Its a good rainy day weekend watch, but forget showing it on a Saturday night, because Saturday nights are made for real horror. 3 Stars
User ReviewAlways SPuts me in mind of The Grudge intermingling the asian chick with British actors. It was eh.
User ReviewBrian SThis slow-moving British "nature's revenge" horror flick is aptly named, considering the unimaginative story and poor quality acting. Four twenty-somethings head into the woods for a weekend camping trip and soon find themselves lost. A mysterious (well, not so mysterious, really) woman shows up, claiming that her boyfriend has vanished. Before long, a couple of the friends have also disappeared. One never comes up from a dive in a lake. Another gets incorporated into a tree. It takes so long for anything to happen, and everything that happens is predictable. Events are telegraphed early on, and the climax of the film relies upon the heroine making a very unlikely choice in her actions that will undoubtedly solicit a groan from any viewer whose IQ is larger than his shoe size. The special effects look rather cheezy, especially when low-budget animatronics are used. The CG isn't much better, though. "The Long Weekend" meets "The Evil Dead" with a bit of "Little Shop of Horrors," or maybe "Swamp Thing," thrown into the mix. There appears to be a ham-handed message about environmentalism early on, but even that gets muddled into oblivion by the end. Lots of good things can be made of wood. This flick is not one of them.
User ReviewRawballs BA bit messy and bit smoothy motion pic for a horror movie...
User ReviewJames HVery slow getting started, and by the time the movie gotgoing I had lost interest. The low budget isn't a plus either. The acting is decent, otherwise a miss.
User ReviewBrody MThis movie was OK but couldve definitely been way better
User ReviewDavid LThink even 1 star is being generous. No Good acting (terrible in fact), no plot, no scares, no decent camera work.........nothing. Have no idea what the point of this film was, but it wasn't remotely scary. Was it trying to be another Blair Witch??? This is an example of how one can be tricked into buying a cheap film, based upon watching what seemed a decent trailer. People just kept disappearing without any hint of what happened to them. There was a vague attempt at an explanation at the end of the film, but quite frankly it was a plot that a couple of 10 year olds could have put together (probably being harsh on the 10 year olds here). I'd certainly recommend this if you wanted to send people to sleep, other than that, avoid at all costs.
User ReviewNicola WAfter watching this movie for 1.5 hrs, I have no idea what it's about! It does not explain anything, why the killings, what so scary about this forest and the mysterious woman! In fact it was so boring that it wasn't even scary and all you care about is when are they all going to die so I can turn it off! Don't waste your time on this one!
