User Review - 10/10 by Martin FMy friend had a copy of this he downloaded it and we watched it last night with a bunch of people. Overall consensus amongst our group? We all really liked it. The acting was solid for an indie, the movie was well shot, great music and LOTS of zombie deaths. Actually, we got into a conversation about it and (drunkenly) re-watched the movie adding up the number of zombies killed. It was something like 85. That's a lot. But at the same time, they go deep into the story, and it is more like a drama here and there. That's why I liked it. It was a bit different then other zombie films. No big named actors, but whatever. It's a zombie movie.
User Review - 8/10 by Chris PMad Martigan must really only enjoy films that are filled with millionaire stars, me? Nah, I like not seeing Will Smith or Tom (plenty of last names to choose from) clutter my 54 inch Panasonic flat! So, that said, are there stars in the movie, thank you no sir! Can't wait to see Ted, a film about a bear that comes to life and he is best friends with a lonely loser who is in really great shape. I don't know a lot of lonely losers that are in Marky Mark shape son! Alright, now to my simple review of this film that I saw in the UK, strange, fun place decent chicks. The action in Dead Season puts the viewer right there with the characters. It's almost a dirty horror film, not because of the genre, but it feels like almost a western/horror film and the characters are slowly forgetting about modern day technology and the ones that have survived are the ones that have let go to some of their past. That said, the main character Elvis, played by Scott Peete still tries to hold onto what he once had but doesn't loose sight on what he must do to survive. The best way I can explain it is if you are texting and driving, you're chances of dieing are at higher risk, so don't text and drive, seems simple enough right? Wrong, just because these zombies are "walkers" doesn't mean they still can't surprise you. Just re-read that, I get what I said, some might not. The other main character is a hot chick named Tweeter, played by Marisa Merril. Why is she hot? Well, I guess the producers of the little film wanted to find distribution so they cast an actress with a great rack! Bonus, she was one hell of an actress too. I couldn't stop watching her, very internal. The acting was key because at times the situations seemed odd, but they never broke and that kept me in this film. Also, they didn't try to do a lot of horror type of scare tactics that most of these films do. The sound and rapid pace and location kept you in tune to the story and what was going on. I think director Adam Deyoe did a wonderful job at telling this story. It was refreshing to see. I grew up a Sam Raimi fan and this was just as fun, less silly but his didn't get to that point until the sequels. Where does it stand? Well, I thought is was a fun little ride and something I could watch again. I say 7 out of 10 star named actors.
User Review - 8/10 by Djmk TI truly enjoyed this. Rented it off amazon and actually watched it twice. Lot's of zombie movies out there right now so it is hard to sift through the good and the bad. I was very surprised at the direction this movie went. Really interesting and creepy. Definitely check it out if you like zombie films.
User Review - 8/10 by Claudia GNot bad. Not too bad. Really slow start. Again, your typical adventure film of survival during a zombie apocalypse
User Review - 6/10 by Wes SNot as bad as I thought it would be, but it does feel bit like a cash in to The Walking Dead's success. The zombies and gore effects are pretty decent, the characters are alright for the most part. The story is a little stale, and some parts seem to drag on, but the ending is pretty good. It's not too memorable, but it's not awful either.
User Review - 6/10 by Joe JElvis (Scott Peat) and Tweeter (Marissa Merrill) are trying to avoid the hordes of zombies that have overtaken the world. They travel to an isolated island in hopes of avoiding the zombies (known as "walkers"), but instead come into contact with a gang of ruthless rebels who've built a community there, and as long as they're useful, Elvis and Tweeter could stick around, while the whole island slowly becomes one walker paradise. This reminds me of the game Dead Island, but it's still a zombie movie, and one that wasn't as bad as others. It takes a very Romero-style approach to the zombies, making them more of a background character, showing us that the worst kind of evil in a post-apocalyptic world isn't the undead - it's the humans. The acting wasn't the best, but it delivered a lot of action, scares, and surprisingly decent effects for a low-budget film.
User Review - 6/10 by Jeremiah BOne of the better zombie movies I've seen lately
User Review - 6/10 by Kizoku Kage Ryu .This is a well shot, mainly well acted zombie apocalypse movie (a couple of the actors fall a bit short, but overall the cast was quite good). While the story may be something you've seen before, the visuals and actors make this worthy of a viewing. It's a solid zombie movie, heads and shoulders above most of what's out there (because let's face it, there are some real stinkers).
User Review - 6/10 by Bryan CCan feel cheap time to time, yet a lot of the acting was well done. If you need a zombie fix quick, Dead Season is the right movie to watch
User Review - 6/10 by Brian CVery well done zombie horror movie. The main characters are interesting, and get themselves to where they believe is a safe haven. But soon find out it has troubles of its own. A really decent story, and filmed entirely on a DSLR camera. Quite enjoyable.
