Fantastica DailyChuck O'LearyA highly entertaining nature-goes-wild thriller. What's not to like about a movie where a macho, bare-chested Leslie Nielsen literally tries to fight a grizzly bear?
User ReviewChristopherThis movie actually freaked me out when I was younger...Way cool and creepy!
User ReviewSweetie CThis is one good movies u should see LOVE RENEE
User ReviewZachary MI have to say that I really love 70's scifi movies. Back when things like global warming and environmental problems where just becoming an issue a lot of people where just learning about and where rightfully concerned, yet really didn't understand the full concept of the situation. That's where things like Frogs and this movie come in. I have to say this is much better than that movie. It manages to pull off some really genuine moments of tension and the characters, while a bit stock, still felt like they had somethings going for most of them. The actors, especially Leslie Nelson, seem like they're having fun. And seeing so many real animals just puts a lot of joy in my heart. Well worth a viewing if you like these kind of movies, or are a Leslie Nelson fan
User ReviewBill BHere we go again with another Jaws rip-off, right down to the font of the text that opens the movie explaining the plot to us before we can even get a chance to get involved in it. Day of the Animals is another in a long line of 'nature goes awry and attacks human beings' movies. However, this is a sort of reunion of sorts, as some of the actors (Christopher George and Richard Jaeckel), director and crew worked on Grizzly the year before, and they came back for more as they just couldn't seem to get enough of animals on a rampage - particularly bears on a rampage. This one also has some other interesting aspects to it. It has Lynda Day George and Paul Mantee in it, the latter one of my favorite actors, and it also has Leslie Nielsen, who turned in probably his most evil performance. The scene when he goes toe to toe in the rain shirtless with a grizzly bear must be seen to be believed. Anyway, it's not a great movie, but like always has some entertainment value for being so schlocky, so see it for that reason. I haven't yet seen the theatrical version entitled Something is Out There, but I'll put it on my list.
| User ReviewJoshua BA fun and entertaining horror movie. Apparently ozone depletion causes more than just global warming - it causes animals to attack humans. The story sounds ridiculous - and it is - but it is enjoyable to watch. Christopher George and Lynda Day George (both in "Mortuary") are in this. I would have to say Leslie Nielsen ("Naked Gun" series) steals the show. Even though this is suppose to be a serious role, every time Nielsen is on the screen I couldn't help but laugh. This was directed by William Girdler and I'll admit I want to see some of his other films. If you're a fan of horror movies that'll make you laugh, then I recommend this to you. 3/5 stars. | User ReviewBradley RCreepy and cool, DAY OF THE ANIMALS is exponentially better than the overrated GRIZZLY. Some of the exchanges between Christopher George and Leslie Nielsen are classic! |
User ReviewTammy Tattykat CAnimals are now turning on humans makes you think the producer and writer knew something back then huh?
User ReviewMichael WA b-movie all the way, but I really enjoyed it. Forget global warming, we should be worrying about the effect of UV rays upon wildlife!
User ReviewBjørn TNext time you take your car to the corner store, spray your aerosol cans or scarf down a Big Mac & throw your non biodegradable wrapper out the window you just think of poor poor Leslie Nielsen being mauled by a bear or Andrew Stevens being attacked by a mountain lion & realize you could have prevented it all dammit!! ..it's enough to make an Indian cry
