| User ReviewMichael CI have no idea why this film gets such low ratings. I was bored and watched it one night, and I was pleasantly surprised. The CGI is obvious, but there's a story and you wind up caring about the characters. It wasn't a perfect film, but it wasn't bad. |
| User ReviewSean DDark Haul was cool and original and different and had no freaking love story angle. The opening plot is confusing but something about the 13th born will have a 13th child and they will be twins, one will be a male full demon, and a female half demon. Anyway, they are born on the 18th century and become stuck in their 20's, the brother is a crazy murderer who's basically mute. She is full of logic but can't do shit except regenerate like him. He also can make anyone he wants have the effect of tripping on acid. She can sort of communicate with him by creating some psionic energy with a surface, but that nigga don't listen to her at all, she had some kind of device attached to her ankle much like the one folks get when they are on house arrest. It apparently suppresses her tail from regenerating and her other slightly demonic looks, in general she looks completely and fully human. Everyone including her fails to understand the point of anything or the procephy, but anyway the film fast forwards to the present day where the descendents of the folks from the time when she was born are trying to stop or kill her brother and have never successfully really done so to begin with or something or the other. Also, I think her brother becomes known as the Jersey Devil, so this is some crazy alternate storyline of that myth. The plot may be completely crazy and convoluted, but I enjoyed it and this is easily one of the better stories in the SyFy original library. |
