Full Plot Details

Andrew is haunted by the nightmare of dying a horrible death in the claw of a rampaging creature. A friend convinces him the only way to conquer imagined fear is to confront it head on. When they invite an adventurous group of off-roaders for radical cycling in remote terrain, no one knows they are being led to the time and place the nightmare unfolds. As sunset plunges them into darkness, the dreadful dream turns real, and they are attacked by the Catcher, a skilled and brutal collector of human specimens for alien science. They are no match for the deft hunter, and it picks its victims, dragging them into an underground catacomb. When Andrew's girlfriend is seized, he confronts the ultimate terror by tracking her into the unknown danger below. In a courageous rescue, they attempt escape, but the vicious visitor has marked them with a scent, and it pursues in an unrelenting attack.

User Review - 6/10 by Brett RThe acting isn't THAT terrible. I liked the Alien. But throw in a silly romance (and an even sillier campfire horror story)... almost lost me. Still, enjoyed the dune buggies and the pretense of psychological character development (almost works). Overall, not a horrible movie.
User Review - 6/10 by Matthew Lpeople did say it was a cheap rip off of aliens but thats total crap, it is its own movie completly different story the alien looks completly different and the only thing that stops it from getting a 2 star rating is having a cool 90's actor like Devon Sawa in it, use would remember him as the kid who can see death in the original Final Destination movie, interesting movie this one, cheap but interesting
User Review - 6/10 by Clayton FI give this movie three stars cause Devon Sawa and Mathew Larwance are in it. Yeah they are kinda washed up but they are still cute and Davon is still funny. The whole movie was low budget sci-fi about a bunch of kids on a camping trip looking for a good time. Things go horribly wrong when friends start dissapearing and weird looking strangers pays a visit. Entertaining but lacking in fright. This movie could have worked if the storyline was tweeked a little. Still over all a fun sci-fi movie.

User Review - 4/10 by Matt GI'm a sucker for a good cheesy horror movie. Unfortunately, this is not a GOOD cheesy horror movie. In fact, had Devon Sawa not been in it, I probably wouldn't have finished watching it. There are a few parts that are fairly entertaining, but by about halfway through I just wanted it to be over. This is definitely nothing to write home about.
User Review - 2/10 by Mike LReally melodramatic and low budget...the only good thing about it was the cast, but they could only do so much with the script and the cheap graphics. It could have actually been better in different hands...a lot of things with the creature were done off camera because I would imagine they just couldn't afford the technology or make it look realistic enough...surprising they got some of the cast to do it at all, but I imagine there'll be a lot of regret when they see the final product.

Bad acting preformances that wasn't helped by the redicilous script with useless dialogues. The creature costume might've been the best part of the movie, it was like something you could've expected from a Xena episode. It didn't offer much, almost nothing, or blood n gore either Even though it's labels as a horror movie theres no scary scenes in the movie, but there are a few laughable ones. I'd recommend most people to not waste their time with viewing this..

The fun part is where the army seems to have everything under control, if control means you're just watching. Stay away from this movie. There's not even good nude scenes.
User Review - 2/10 by Jason DFor the movie Creature of Darkness, it's actually a place of great darkness, where once promising young stars like Devon Sawa (Final Destination), Matthew Lawrence (The Hot Chick), and Sanoe Lake go to fade away into obscurity. The film centers on a large group of young bros and hoes who go camping and motorcrossing in the desert where an alien has landed and government people are apparently roaming (though you only see bits of them briefly, then never again). Immediately, this vicious alien begins abducting/killing them one by one in order to gather trophies (a la Predator) for a museum on another planet. How do we know this? Oh yeah, the camping trip is also a convenient intervention for loony friend Sawa who has nightmares of an alien ripping him apart. The story is pure 100% shit, as is the horrendous acting and effects. At first, the effects looked promising, especially when the creature dones a hat and long jacket to abduct folks (a la Jeepers Creepers) but then it quickly resorts to atrocious CG and further worsens this already awful film. This is yet another one I nominate in the category of worst horror/sci-fi of 2010. I thought for sure writer/director Mark Stouffer was a young up and comer attempting to break into the business on a rough start with this funky film, but in all actuality, Stouffer has been in the business for 30 years! Take a hint: it's time to retire. Awful, awful film!
