User Review - 8/10 by Megan RMy name is Megan, and I am a fan of Star Trek: the Next Generation. I tried to resist, but the influence of my friend Katie, combined with a chance viewing in an anthropology course (of all things) and vague but fond recollections of it in my childhood have broken me down. I started checking out the episodes the public library had on tape starting last spring, and I finally broke down and started renting the season box sets on Netflix. Of course, this has led to some very fun times when Katie, Sarah L and I gather together to watch them and geek out together. And in all fairness, it was a damn good show, even if things like the sets and some of the makeup were not so good early on. That's just what I need -- something to make me even geekier. -------------------------------------------------------------- The first Film Series showings were this weekend. We had 90 people for The Triplets of Belleville and around 20 for The Fog of War (which I think is pretty damn good for a political documentary on a Saturday night). It's all finally coming together, which takes immeasureable stress off of my mind. The regular meetings have also started, but they're not going as well as I hoped. I can only seem to get around a half-dozen people at a time. It's perfectly possible to operate with that many people, but considering I'm sending out reminders to around 25 people or so, it's a bit disappointing. At least I have a couple of things to look forward to in the next couple of weeks: the Classic Horror Film Festival this weekend (where we will be showing the Universal versions of Dracula, Frankenstein, and The Mummy), and the Anthro Club trip on the 14th to a members-only preview tour of a new exhibit on Macchu Picchu at the Field Musuem in Chicago. Normally, this would be the point where I add reviews, but I need to do some homework, so I must settle now for just ratings. Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to work on Fundamentals of Music homework while I listen to a borrowed copy of the Bend It Like Beckham soundtrack.
User Review - 6/10 by Greg WBeautiful to look at, but confusing and moody.
