Chicago Sun-TimesRoger EbertThe movie itself is fun: goofy, softhearted, fussy, sometimes funny, and with the sort of happy ending that columnists like to find for their stories and hardly ever find themselves.
The New York TimesJanet MaslinMr. Apted has made this a sweet, engaging movie that audiences will very much want to see end well.
Washington PostRita KempleyContinental Divide should have marked Belushi's tentative, encouraging first step towards quirkier, more substantive roles and films. Instead it, and Neighbors were more of a dead end.
Combustible CelluloidJeffrey M. AndersonIt's very slight and grows less interesting as Belushi's character is tamed, but it's a rare, welcome look a the late, great comedian's romantic side.
Spirituality and PracticeFrederic and Mary Ann BrussatContinental Divide charts a love relationship that is hobbed by work.
User ReviewAfonso AThis was the movie that proved that John Belushi wasn't just a comedy guy, he was indeed an actor. Used to watch this on tape when i was sick as a child, the story always made me feel better.
