Hollywood Reporter - 10/10 by Frank ScheckA detailed portrait of these societal eccentrics, which, while not neglecting their obvious personal problems, is clearly sympathetic.
sbs.is - 9/10 by Stefan Birgir StefanssonVery interesting look into people i didn't even know existed
New York Daily News - 8/10 by Elizabeth WeitzmanYou've just found one of this week's hidden treasures.
PopMatters - 6/10 by Cynthia FuchsIn Hollywood, accommodating expectations%u2014looking the part%u2014is a first step. Toward what? That's a question the provocative, respectful, and enthralling Confessions leaves open.
New York Times - 6/10 by Matt Zoller SeitzThe empathetic tone draws you in and some of the details are devastating.
User Review - 10/10 by Ashley PIt's hard for me to get into documentaries, I feel like I'm a.d.d. So for me to get through a movie like this is a feat in itself. That being said, this movie makes it incredibly easy to watch and feel something for every character. It is shot incredibly well. There are still shots incorporated into the motion picture, the feeling of the stills alone tell a story. Every character has their own back story and every character is just as powerful AND important as the next. It was also neat for me to learn more about the people who work on Hollywood blvd. Since I live so close, they are there every time you drive through Hollywood. It's just an overall excellent story and very well put together movie.
User Review - 10/10 by Tony HNakedly honest documentary following the people who dress up as superheroes on Hollywood boulevard for photos with tourists. The people range from the tragic, to the down on their luck, to the just plain sweet and you can't help but be absorbed by all of their stories. Oh, and the Wonder Woman? Total hottie. Someone put Jennifer Wenger in movies.
User Review - 10/10 by Mike CWow, as a big movie watcher, including docs, I cannot remember one making me this happy. I just loved everything about this: great shots both film and still. Incredibly really. They picked four good people. Superman is the ultimate professional. So he's a little weird, who cares. It makes him good at his job. Wonder Woman is very, very pretty and seems like a great person (man the way she chews gum while she talks and how she looks when she looks down then up!?!...I'd cast her!). Hulk is in a bad spot because he wears a complete costume, but seems like a really nice guy. Batman is perhaps a bit crazy, but even he is kinda inspiring. Just a fantastic look at some normal folks trying to make it. You add in the great shots and great stories, and you've got yourself a great documentary.
User Review - 10/10 by Istvan GGreat Documentary. Not much of a Docu-fan, and this movie never once crossed my mind ever, but the Hulu was showing it & I had nothing at all to do and I just Love it. Michael Moores Shit Documentary films are funny at points & focuses on society/Government problems but I like stuff that focuses on the individual. Christopher Dennis I have to say is under all that superman memorabilia a really good human being, even the cop says hes never had a complaint about him & He seems very a honorable human being. Joe McGueen has quite a story having had to be homeless and a young black guy during the Rodney King riots and getting into a movie. Maximus Allen is the most interesting, its odd how he chose Batman to portray on the street, when batman has the most psychological baggage in the comics. Jennifer Wenger/Wonder Woman is the Middle Ground between the The Guys of the Doc & The Viewer she had the draw of Hollywood & went. Great group of people coming from way different backgrounds. Just awesome to see, never knowing about the people behind the costume. Too Bad That Hollywood has disallowed them, do to complaints of some.
User Review - 10/10 by Chase GConfessions of a Superhero is a beautifully poignant, heartbreaking and ultimately inspirational documentary about the lives of a diverse few aspiring actors working, or as they often see it, begging, on Hollywood Boulevard as they wait for their lucky break.
